Is Drouin now a lock for the top 10?

I saw Drouin live today, thought he was very good. Excellent puck handler, very good vision and shot the puck quite a lot. Drouin did actually a good work on the boards for his size. I was very excited to see him play and he did not disappoint. I can definitely see why people are high on him.

I would say top 5 at this point.

When you have such a top heavy draft (deep too) it's hard to go any further than that. Top 3 seems a little premature.

I think the top 6 is somewhat set right now, but the order of that 6 could change dramatically.
(Mac, Jones, Barkov, Drouin, Lindholm, Monahan)

I'd say Drouin's pretty much a lock for the top 5 let alone the top 10.

There's no guarantees, but at this point he makes a very good case to be picked over early favorites for #4/5 like Mono and Lindholm...

The number of people in Halifax who think Drouin is not only a better Q player, but prospect as well rises each time I go to the rink. #1 is not out of the possibility if he keeps his Team Canada play up... Which I see happening.

I would say he's top 5 pushing for second overall. I don't see him falling outside of the top 10 unless he starts coasting due to complacency from here on in.

The only reason he's top 5 is because of how ridiculously good the top 6 players for this years draft are. Most years i'd say he'd be an easy top 2 pick (at this point).

Definitely top 5, IMO. Could go higher, but it really depends on positional need. If teams need a bigger #1 C for example, they'd likely go in another direction. I'm excited to have Drouin back in Halifax though, hopefully we can make a Memorial Cup run.

As a Leafs and Mooseheads fan, I'll be super happy with either Drouin or Nate.

Very likely yes. He has the skill for it for sure however his other parts of the game makes him a prospect out of the top 3 or possible top 5

No, too many skilled players at the top end of this draft. In theory he should be, but we just had Forsberg and Grigorenko last year as proof.

This kid reminds me of when Huberdeau shot up the rankings a couple of years ago. Albeit Hubs jumped closer to draft time, but same sort of thing.

Drouin is as much a top-5 lock as Teravainen, Grigorenko, and Forsberg were.

more like Galchenyuk minus the injury...
Arent there reports in regards to the scouts being more impressed with Drouin than McKinnon? It might be just the current form but being compared to the top draft eligible player should make you a surefire top 10 picks..

I think he's a guaranteed top 10 pick but not a top 5.

Going into past drafts, Fowler was considered a "lock" to go top-5, and Forsberg a "lock" to go top-10. No one is truly a lock, but it's highly highly likely he will be a top 10 pick.

1st rd definitely
Top 15 98% sure
Top 10 85% sure
I'm just not really seeing top 5. Not because he isn't great just because I can pump off quite a few names just as good if not better/more proven or better all around game.

^...i feel at this moment, that only MacKinnon, Jones, and Barkov are the only 3 guaranteed to go ahead of him. it all depends on whether some teams picking at #4 and #5 feel he's the BPA or not. he could go ahead of Lindholm and Monahan or behind or between.
