Brügger is only reserve during the Spengler Cup? What a shame. He's been playing really well of late. A young swiss forward (21) that might see regular time with the national team if he keeps progressing.

There is something growing in Fribourg and I hope they will be fun to watch, there are some nice players on that team.

They can add 3 players after the 2 first game i believe, so he may play during the Spengler Cup if they add him.

They kinda had to do that.

I dont know a lot about other european leagues, but i'd guess they dont fill in an extended christmas holiday for the Spengler Cup as the swiss league does. It is no coincedence that almost all players come from the swiss league or from "unemployment" in NA (couldnt find a better word..).

Also, i remember a Interview with Dough Shedden (the Coach) which said that its pretty hard to tell a guy like Brett McLean, who answered the call every single year (im sure he's not the only one but he was the one mentioned), to stand back but keep themselves ready incase the NHL season starts.

Cam Barker? seriously? People haven't figured out he's a can yet?

I've watched a couple Spengler Finals in the past, but I'll be paying more attention to all Team Canada games this year.

What do people think that Salavat Ulaev UFA will do against Fribourg? They should win shouldn't they?

I'm extremely interested in how this one turns out. I saw two of Salavat's games this past week, and they were horrible. My money's on Fribourg.

I agree with you. They added additional players for this tourney, Hornqvist and Corey Schneider.
