Horrible news if Lindholm would be out for more than the first 3 games. I really like Hägg though. I think he's got more potential than any other defender on the Swedish roster. He could have a break through performance if given the chance.

Goalies and forwards look good. Defense might be hampered by the absence of Brodin, Klefbom and now (maybe) Lindholm, but the rest of the d-men have over 340 Elitserien or Allsvenskan games combined. I think the team will do fine.

Yeah, It's not as horrible as one would think. The forward group is very good, goaltending looked great in the exhibition games. The D got better and better but it's a bad team compared to what it could have been, at least on paper.

Yikes, that's a crazy list. Shame because it would have been an EXTREMELY competitive year if Sweden was fully healthy.

This tournament is already lost. Will still watch but with zero hopes. Defense wins tournaments, not offense. And our D is waaaaay too inexperienced.

No Hampus could mean no medal round this year. Just too many key missing players if he is gone.

I'm starting to understand why Forsberg fell in the draft. He doesn't seem like a finisher to me. To me, he seems a bit like MPS in that he has all the elite tools, but can't put it together. That's just from my limited viewing though.

You understand why he fell because you watched 2 games where he created multiple chances for himself and line mates, therefore he sucks.

How come RR pick Hägg over Ludwig Byström? Byström has five points and are +5 in 26 games with Modo this season, and he has 8 games and is +5 on the national U20 team, whereas Hägg is younger, is -2 with Modo, and have no U20 national team experience whatsoever.

Is Byström injured, or is there something I'm missing here?

That's exactly what I said.

He has world class skills at this level. So did MPS.

I just don't see first line NHL potential in him. That's all. He will still forge a good career, but just not as high as he was projected at a year ago. Just my opinion. Laugh all you want. I would bet he will not lead the Swedes in points this tournament.

Bah, Forsberg is nothing like MPS. Honestly. I've watched him maybe 30+ games and he's NOTHING like MPS. At ALL.

MPS doesn't know how to spell hockey sense.

Forsberg has pretty good hockey sense. Good enough to not prevent him from succeeding at NHL level, imo.

He's still raw, though but has much better chance to pull it all together than MPS.

It appears the Capitals fan base doesn't pump their prospect tires enough, because some of you guys still don't even get how great Kuznetsov is.

Nope. Not really the issue at all. Kuznetsov is great. The only problem I see with him is that he may never come play in the NHL.

I am allowed to disagree on your assessment of a player. I don't see Forsberg's game translating to elite first line NHL success.

I also don't see Sweden doing very well this tournament. They just have too many injuries to key players. Next year they should be much better on home soil.

Not a fan of Forsberg are you? Remember you saying Rakell was the best player the other day which clearly wasnt the casewhen Forsberg got the "award".

Cant agree on everything though :p You've had lots of posts I dont agree with lately though so we're not seeing things the same hehe

So I was watching the preliminary games Sweden played and heard "Christian juice, son of former NHL-er pear juice". Figured I'd share, since it was so awesome

Boy...WJC hasn't been nice to our prospects lately. First Smith Pelly now Hampus. And this is his second injury of the season...I really hope this doesn't hurt his development.
