This tournament is already lost. Will still watch but with zero hopes. Defense wins tournaments, not offense. And our D is waaaaay too inexperienced.

Agreed. I think Wennberg should get 2nd line time. But it's also a good sign, we have great forward depth..

I'm not as optimistic as I was a few weeks ago but I'm not as pessimistic about our chances in this tournament as Jim Morrison is

I think we can compete with everyone even though we are the underdogs against 3-4 opponents.

Ah, the good ol' "feel sorry for ourselves so that when we win we can act like it was an upset".

Honestly though, I doubt the team will get a largely different result against the czechs with or without Hampus.

We're missing our four best players due to injury. Our three best defensemen! If we win it's a MAJOR upset. This team is finishing 4th at best. Sorry if this makes you sad.

So you mean that the remaining line-up, player by player, is worse than the czech team?

On top of that, a swedish game plan and style of play that wouldn't cope with the czechs?

I don't know how good/bad the other team is, but I think we still have plenty of talent that should be able to win this opening game. Call me optimistic or just stupid. In general swedish posters on HFBoards are way too pessimistic and passive. That's just plain boring.

I thought you meant that it would not be an upset if we won the tournament. Not just this game against the Czech. Phew, you had me worried for a second there.

Last year your team had Elitserien defense, now only Allsvenskan defense. See the difference?

I really like the Swedish team, but they are not gold medal contenders this year.

This could be the first upset game in the tournament. It's really too bad Sweden has so many injured players. However, this Czech squad would have been a threat to upset them even if they were all playing. I like the Czech forward depth this year. Musil will have to be a beast again this year.
