What happens if you put yourself on your ignore list

I was always wondering this. Does it say you can't do it? I wouldn't try it and in fact I have never put nor do I plan on ever putting anyone on my ignore list but I just found it funny that when you clock on your user name it gives you an option of doing it. Has anyone ever tried it?

I guess to sum up, I'm quite board since I'm Jewish
