What do you guys think about spending a mid round pick on JC Lipon this upcoming draft? Seems to be a pretty good role player with grit some offensive upside.

Why not just sign him as a free agent and keep the pick?

^^ I probably would, like what he brings but I don't know how realistic it would be for us to do that?

What if a team drafts him before we get a chance to sign him? Draft is before free agency

He's a '93 so he would have to go undrafted again to be a FA.

He may go undrafted.

If not, no big deal.

Only downside I see is that he's a RW but I'd be OK with a 3rd or 4th rounder.

The season he's having in Kamloops - unlikely he goes undrafted, especially in the thinner 6th and 7th rounds... I'm predicting mid-first rounder.

Maybe last year.

I think he'll be lucky to go before the 3rd with how deep this year's 1st and 2nd is.

I've only watched this one and the previous game vs Finland, but ... yah Binnington right now. He eats up the net better, and has a nice calm style of play. Lateral is good, but he had a couple of fish moments that worried me. Subban, looked shaky to me and way to frantic in net (similar to how M.A.Fleury was in that sense). I still think there is way to much "hype" around Subban that he'll just be given the job either way.

The Subban situation is like the inverse of what happened with Bunz. Both were great during the year but shaky in camp. Difference is that Subban still got selected while Bunz was shown the door.

My (probably biased canadian) opinion is that three games for Boone Jenner is to much. Also i think hockey canada should have cut him and brought a replacement however his name will apparently be on the final roster sheet tomorrow

Ya, we will need a five minute major to kill.

Guy is a repeat offender. He should have been sent home and replaced.

Yeah I agree. I'm sure they could find someone to do what he does and play all the games

It's almost game time
I know it's just Germany but I'm pumped
I'm looking to see the Canadian offense really get going against a relatively weak German team

Ouellet scores on the PP, thank goodness its not about how; its about how many.

Nuge grabs the assist supposedly(but that could be changed)

I am not really liking Canadas line control on the PP; seems like pucks have a really easy time sneaking past Ryan Murphy. It is early, but we shouldnt be giving up this many shorthanded chances.
