Rielly's been good, but there's no real point in playing him 30 minutes this game. Our coaches need to help our players figure out what to do when we don't have the puck. We are chasing the puck quite a bit.

Other than those two blatant gaffes by McNeill and Ouellett on the line change I thought everyone had a pretty good period. MacKinnon, Murphy and Strome especially were all noticeably better that period than they were in the first.

I like Scheif, he' not as flashy but seems to be in the right spots at the right time and willing to play along the boards and in front of the net.

The critcism this team is getting really reminds me of what Gord Miller said at the start of the game, this is a lose-lose for Team Canada in the media (Extrapolate that to internet fans as well), if they win big with no problems it's not impressive, if they give up a few goals/don't win big somethings wrong.

There isn't a point of playing him 30, your right but he had 2 minutes that whole second period. Thats what we (Leafs fans) are complaining about.

Its one thing to not get ice time when you play bad, its another to not get ice when you play good.

Top 10. Not saying it after seeing him today. But Scoutman1 on the prospects boards had him very high early last year when he made the list.

Seriously was Murphy even out there for a goal against?

He makes so many slick passes to get us out of the zone, when other people would just bank it off the glass. He also is incredible pinching in the offense zone. Makes a great pinch look normal.

Unacceptable, I say. Scheifele only has 2 goals playing on the wing. Bust. Trade him for draft picks.

Anyone is going to look like they're 'along for the ride' when your linemates are Nugent-Hopkins and Huberdeau.

/just saying.

The problem is that it's not maximizing Canada's potential, which Canada will need against the US and Russia and whoever they play in the next rounds

I've seen sites all over the place with him. top 5 on a few sites and threads on here and some where he's not even in the top 2 rounds

Personally I would have taken the first one. Rather be unimpressed than have questions popping up against Germany.

How do you play Murphy first pairing minutes? I get if we were losing but when your leading by 3 goals, you want good defensive plays! guy puts murphy out there......Makes no sense....Than barely plays Mac,rielly...its just stupid. Wait till we vs Russia and USA

Where are you seeing ice time? Cant find it. Or are you just throwing minutes out there?

We didn't have many PP's in the 2nd. Its clear that Murray/Harrington/Reinhart/Murphy (meh) are going to carry the 5v5 ice time.

Also..not biased, but Ouellet looked great out there, very composed. McNeil backpass was stupid and not Ouellet's fault at all.
