One of my favorite hits by Brown. Sean Avery in the background audio is fantastic.

This hit is eerily similar to a famous hit in another era, the Pat Quinn knockout hit on Bobby Orr.

I really find it hard for people to defend Tucker. This video is proof of how much of a cheap shot artist her was. As much as I hate the Habs and Kovalev, Tucker deserved every bit of that hit

The best (if you want to call anything the best in that situation) part is Rich Pilon, who was about as agile as a cement mixer jumping and flying through the air the get at Hunter like an olympic figure skater. I guess you really don't know what gifts you have until you get angry enough.

Edit:

Controversial hit, but no worse than a lot of Stevens' hits. I've seen it called an elbow, but it's really a shoulder to the face. Lafontaine's chin hits right off the Penguins crest on Leroux's shoulder. This would be a suspension now, but it was legal at the time.

Like its been said, that was two husky guys who are very solid on their skates. SO much force involved, very lucky someone didnt get hurt.

Either way Im glad that now that the dust has settled it seems like even the Bruins fans can appreciate how monstrous and clean and rare that kind of hit is.
Particularly considering that Neil fought Chara later in the game. He wound up kneeling over Chara who was flat on his back on the ice, with his fist ready to fly... He let Chara off easy and just skated away. Total badass with class.

First of all, he doesn't "fly 25 feet" like the homer announcer says.

Secondly, the only reason he "flies" at all is because of the skater who came up behind him and clipped him just a bit while he was getting hit.
Errey: "More like 40 feet, Paul."

good Lord. Clarke on Bell, Stevens on Kariya and this one are the worst i.e. best i.e. most punishing. in the entire thread.

It was funny because I've never seen one player have as bad a playoffs as Stevens had (1999 playoffs he played absolutely miserably at least in my opinion) only to follow it up with as good of a playoff showing (2000 he was a man on a mission, even a bit of an offensive threat although the stats might not show it, just a totally dominating performance)

His hit on Andreas Dackell is still the hardest I've ever seen. That sound of him crunching into the boards was sickening.
