He has had more chances then anyone, just because the goalie is playing well doesn't mean Spezza played bad.

Spezza didn't have as many dumb turnovers and penalties as Seguin

Spezza and Tavares absolutely terrible on that 4on4. Not sure why the coach keeps playing that that line.

So I have never been a big Spengler Cup follower, so thi might be a dumb question, but is Canada the only team that has to have players just from their country and the rest of the teams can use whoever they like (as in who they get to play for them)?

#MannheimAgainstBoys in this one...time to move on and try to salvage some pride, those rinks take some getting used to.

Yeah, that's kind of the difference between national teams and clubs.

Because the rest of the teams in the event are club teams rather than Nations.

he had shots, but too hot doggish...looked selfish to me...

Seguin took a couple of penalties, but created much more than Spezza...Tavares was good...Smyth invisible and slow...didnt notice Gagner much...

Thats what I thought. Strange they let Canada in, just seems odd.

That's a tradition. And since there were always many Canadiens playing in Switzerland it makes sense to get sort of a national team together then inviting some AHL-team.

Well that's a tradition. I don't know how it exactly started but I guess there were so many Canadian players in Switzerland that the organisators tried to make up a team of Canadians and that has gone on for years.

I would think it has to do with tradition and ohh I dunno..respect considering we invented the game. Seems pretty obvious IMO, and I don't think it's odd either.

Spezza is useless, now we see why Team Canada always ignores him.

Smyth is expired, should not be here, looks way out of place and shouldn't be playing the late game minutes he is.

JT and Sequin looked the best, Beregon too. Spezza, not so good, gotta finish. Was a little dissappointed not see more of Duchene. Maybe he and Spezza should switch.

I am not sure, but I think that other teams can add up to the three players on their rosters. Like Davos did it this year with Diaz, Brunner or Fribourg with Hornqvist and Corey Schneider.

Mannheim waited for the other team to make mistakes, and capitalized. Simple as that.

Seguin can't take penalties like that, but was otherwise excellent in the game itself. Bergy played like Bergy. Tavares also set up Spezza a lot, who did not finish. Not a terrible thing per se, but Spezza got weaker as the game went along, his passes stopped hitting their targets and he caused quite a few offsides for his own team.
