Pep Guardiola or Roberto di Matteo. Take your pick.

I just hope that the highlight of our winter isn't the announcement of our new coach.

I will be optimistic by saying our next dp will be chosen with the influence of our new coach ala marcsh last season.

Should have given Joey Saputo Football Manager instead of a MLS club.

Anyone else find it strange that Joey keeps leaking this type of information? I feel like he's preparing us for a disappointment. The coach probably will end up being Biello/NDS and Joey will give us the same spiel that Boivin gave us when he hired Gauthier... He'll say that he turned over every rock but decided that Biello/NDS was the best fit because he's been with the team for so long, speaks french, knows the city, etc etc etc.

There's not a word he could say that would make the fans accept a decision like that one..

I can't wait to hear who the DP's will be. I was watching highlights of Impact-Fiorentina today, having all of Pisanu, Toni, Pasqual or a real #10 would be amazing. What's going with the Aquilani rumors?

The thing that worries me here is the fact Joey shouted loud and clear we would get a DP last season... we did... took half a season (wich cost us a post season place) but we did... this season the big deal is about getting a new coach.. but not a word of a DP... but like i said earlier i just hope Coach is step one of a few important decisions during the off season.

Only reason why it took so long is because we had to wait for the transfer market to open. Otherwise, Di Vaio would've been playing for the Impact much sooner than he did.

Tony Marinaro just tweeted a link to a story saying Di Vaio might leave Montreal and return to Italy to play for Pescara.

http://www.sportcafe24.com/43318/pri...ue-tracce.html

This is the story through google translate.

"ROME, Dec. 27 - It would be the hit of ninety, the attacker is missing and that the amount of lead is ideal for networks to bring home the salvation. Marco Di Vaio looks set to leave the Montreal Impact to return to Italy: the former flag of Bologna, after the farewell to Italian football had migrated towards more exotic and Canada had received him with joy. His journey, however, seems to come to the end credits after a goal scored and after many good performances. Here then that could open market scenarios that were unthinkable a few months ago.

Why just the Pescara? Fans biancazzurri have the right to be happy having good relations between Di Vaio and the current technical Abruzzo Cristiano Bergodi. The two, in fact, were teammates in New York in the second half of the 90s: Bergodi was one of the pillars of the team biancoceleste while Di Vaio was a young man of great promise with a career of the great joys wide open in front of him. Relations between the two were good right now and just this factor may act as a glue between Pescara and striker Montreal.

The President Sebastiani could do a little thought about buying the player, but for now, what is certain is that something will change in the attack. Jonathas and Abbruscato are about to leave while Celik will have to decide what to do with his attorney. Forward are missing salvation as the goal scorer of the team with only three networks Weiss is an asset. While waiting to discover the movements of the market, the Pescara could place the blow of the market. And if everything goes in the right direction in Abruzzo, many fans would have a reason to smile.
"

I highly doubt this is true but I wouldnt be highly disappointed if it was true. I think we can Find a replacement to Di Vaio, maybe not in January but in the summer and it would be a bonus if the replacement is younger.

Joey Saputo just tweeted the following.

"It is nice to see that there is interest for @divaio9 in Italy, but I call guarantee our fans that he will be wearing his #9 in Mtl this yr."

Di Vaio just tweeted this:

Quote:
Ribadisco che le voci su un mio trasferimento sono infondate! Penso solo al prossimo campionato con la mia maglia n. 9 del Montreal Impact!
it translates to this:

Quote:
I confirm that the rumors about my transfer are unfounded! I just think next season with my knitting n. 9 of the Montreal Impact!

Gotta love our manager flexing his muscle whenever the integrity of our roster is challenged.
