The only thing I am debating is the quotes, "doesn't belong in the league and a waste of a roster spot".

Don't have enough information to make that determination. He definitely deserves a shot somewhere. I don't think Tebow will be a great NFL QB but you don't always have to be. The one thing I saw with him was determination when he played.

Tebow has less the 50% comp pct in his only year as a starter

In modern era that is truly embarrassing

Brandon Marshall
Julius Peppers

All 5 are starters.

All deserved

Happy to see Melton get recognition (Though the price is going up ,, Bears should have got a deal done with him early in year)

Suh gets media attention but Melton is all around better DT

Briggs may be the best player on that defense. It's silly he didn't get picked because he doesn't rush the passer

Suh gets the attention because he's such a controversial player, not purely because of his talent.

Problem is that this has been a big year for 3-4 OLB and with there big sack #'s they of course were going to get the attention

Also Briggs hasn't made a game changing play since 1st half of season

Only way HenMel leaves the Bears is if they change schemes. If push comes to shove we'll just tag him. I've got the feeling he'll end up signing up 5y/35m with 16-18m guaranteed.

You do anything to keep Melton. He's essentially our only budding young star on an aging defense.

suh is a beast. he gets more recognition not only because he's controversial but also because he's one of the best dts in the league. I'd definitely take him over Melton and alot of the bs he pulls could probably be stopped by a real coach.

Tim Tebow is same terrible QB he was at start of his NCAA career

He is a gimmick at QB ,, he doesn't belong at QB and as shown in both Denver and NY the organizations agreed

Josh McDaniels using a 1st round pick on him is one of the great examples of throwing a draft pick away

He is no better a talent at QB then Eric Crouch ,, Only difference between him and Crouch is that Crouch didn't have a fanbase comparable to a cult

Just pointing out that Bears as they usually do made a mistake not getting him locked down early in year

Now he is PB and coming off another good year ,, His costs have risen since early in year when his agent tried to get Bears to come to terms with him on contract extension. The Bears shelved the talks until after season and now they likely will have to shell out more money

Suh has been having poor year until recently

Melton has been better all around DT all season

Bilick is Lovie Smith with one more win in February. Made the playoffs twice in 6 years before being fired.

Definitely too much faith in Kyle Boller but that's the only comparison I see.

Bilick - defensive coach. Career record 80-64 playoffs 5-3
Smith - defensive coach. Career record 80-63 playoffs 3-3

They basically have had identical careers except Bilick won the Super Bowl in his 2nd year and Lovie lost the Super Bowl in his 3rd year.

Billick is an offensive coach though. He was the OC in Minnesota when they broke the scoring record and passing touchdown record.

Well at Baltimore they won because of their defense. I think the Super Bowl year they won 4 straight games when they didn't even score a touch down. If he's an offensive coach, he wasn't a very good one. I'd rather not grab a 59 year old re-tread who was fired just a few years ago. Might as well keep Lovie.
