lets talk about some of the local guys for this years draft. Would you spend a draft pick on guys like Cammarata, Kloos, Besse, Coatta? those are just a few that come to mind.
none of them are legitimate NHL prospects. Sorry buddy. They might get a sniff after their NCAA days.
Hurley could be a first or second rounder, Vannelli will probably be a second or third.
I have not seen these players live but I really wonder if teams would look at these kids in the first 3 rounds.
On another note, Wild have an extra 3rd and 7th this year. We know GMCF likes to trade, but I still have to go with my gut, how would drafting a guy like Cammarata, Kloos or Besse be bad if it was in the 7th round.. we drafted nanne for crying out loud

They absolutely would look at those kids in the first 3 rounds. I've seen quite a few that have Hurley projected in the first round and I would be really surprised if Vannelli isn't drafted in the first 3.
Regarding your second point, you do realize that last year was Kloos and Besse's draft year right? Which means Nanne was already taken over those two. They can still be drafted but usually an undrafted player has to really do something special to get drafted after their draft year. I think someone will take Cammarrata though, he has the skill of a first round pick. I could see him being selected in the 4th or 5th.
Just watched a couple of Edina games. I can definitely see why Hurley is getting some love. Wondering what you guys think about Parker Reno? Seems like a poised guy back there, very good skater, makes a good first pass, good wrister from the point.

Not sure if he'll be drafted but Reno is a really solid high school defenseman. He's been on Edina's varsity team for four years now. He plays physical, blocks shots, doesn't make many mistakes, is a smooth skater and he has some size so maybe a team will take a chance on him.
So how does this draft look to be shaping up compared to this year's draft?
The number of quality forwards is especially good. If the Wild get a top 3 pick I will be ecstatic, if we get a top 5 pick I will be very happy. If we get a top 10 pick I will be happy. But if we are out of the top 10 I'm going to be very disappointed. I hope they figure out a better system than 04-05 draft.

I think we can safely assume the Wild really only have one 7th round pick - Vinni Lettieri is draft eligible in 2013 and I think we all know what team is going to draft him in what round.

Teams are looking at Hurley and Vannelli very closely.
Cammarata, Kloos, and Besse will make for fine NCAA players. They just aren't NHL prospects.

Not aggressive enough and his decision making is sketchy.

I think Lettieri goes before then, but he is what Minnesota looks for in a player. He was great with the U18's in their weekend here in Minnesota a month or so ago, and has been on fire for Lincoln ever since.
The guy i wish Wild could have taken over Dumba, but alas it seems some swedish posters are saying he was trying to hide his concussion which begs the question is it Anaheim or is it him. either way its dumb.
