The wizards have to be intentionally holding Wall out, right? I mean, in hopes of adding another #1 overall?
I don't believe so though because there is no lebron type prospect in this draft. Not to say there isn't some solid players in the lottery but this years draft just doesn't have any 'elite level' prospect. Could be as many as 5 to 7 players that could go #1 unless a couple really ramp it up in the new year. Personally I'd prefer not going for the 'athletic big who needs to work on skill' type high lottery pick that we see go every year. Sort of favor Shabazz Muhammad. 6'6 lefty sort of Harden-esque though more athletic. Even though they have Beal at the #2 just don't think one can pass on the scoring ability.
They need some scoring, IMHO. Haven't seen the Lins kid from Maryland yet but he seems to have some skill with legit center size.
All that said the bullets are so far back makes no sense to rush Wall back. If they can get this injury healed up without any surgery that is just really huge when it comes to an NBA player. Has been some talk that Wall is just so fast and athletic that it places more strain on his body and admittedly he's either super fast or normal. Hasn't developed that hesitation move to use occasionally that can be deadly and wouldn't be so turbo.
Adrian Peterson shreds his knee he misses no time and makes a run at the rushing record. John Wall, Arenas, or any Wizard has stiffness in their knee and they're never the same caliber of player.

It's sort of ridiculous to compare players based on how they respond to knee injuries. I mean, Peterson's having knee issues now from pushing the knee so hard this season. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a minor procedure once it's all done.
But knee injuries are tricky, it doesn't take much to tweak something. There's also a bit of a difference between making one cut and running in a straight line during segmented plays on a knee than there is playing in a sport which requires constant jumping.
Difference in the flow of an NFL game vs an NBA game, too. The movement in basketball is much more constant with no sitting on the sideline while your defense plays. Even when the offense is on the field, the sport is pretty stationary until a play is run.
Unless you're saying that Rose doesn't have the same type of drive as Peterson.
Also the whole "misses no time" thing is a bit misleading. Peterson got "lucky" enough to injure his knee right before the off-season and thus had that entire time period to recover. Arenas' and Wall's injuries either happened during the course of the full season or just before the season proper started.
We have no way of knowing if Wall is going to be the same player or not... because he's not stepped back on the court yet and I'd wager that at least 40% of Gilbert's problems stepping back onto the court are mental. Beyond the normal mental problems associated with trusting your knee, anyway.
Was talking more about teams in general but I get your point
Them and the Mystics are just terrible, but I don't count the Mystics. The point is, every other pro team in this town is successful and has a bright future except Washington. And Washington will probably end up botching the draft again
Finally being more consistently aggressive driving. A great skill to hone when one's shot isn't falling. Would love to see him develop that hesitation dribble drive.
