Care to provide me with a list of the 180 or so dmen that are better thana healthy Sauer?

Gilroy,

So Girardi might not be a better player than Sauer, but Gilroy clearly is. That means Gilroy is better than Girardi.....

Anyone who truly believes this clearly doesn't understand how to evaluate a players game.

You're either trying to be funny, and failing miserably at it. Or haven't watched any Rangers games.

Honestly, Sauer sucks. He's solely a product of the crappy system that the Rangers run. They play not to lose and rely solely on Lundqvist. If they had even a league average goalie they wouldn't have topped 80 points.

Like seriously though, in the Rangers system when the puck is in the corner the defensemen just stand in front of the net and block shots. There's absolutely no skill involved to do that.

The Rangers system is awful and brutal to watch. It makes terrible Dmen like Bickel, Eminger, Sauer, and MDZ look ok. For their sake hopefully Lundqvist doesn't get hurt, because if he does their defense will be exposed for what it really is and that team will drop like a fly in the standings.

It reminds me of penalty kicks in soccer, the way they just stand there trying to block shots. Doesn't take much skill to do that.

Yeah they win because they have 6 goalies on the ice, not because they are good players or Tortorella is a good coach.

so true, for all the talk about how boring teams like the coyotes and devils are i would rather watch them play then the rangers with a system that makes a marginal defenceman like sauer seem good

I tend to agree, but to be fair to The Rangers. They've built a team that supports this sort of system so why not play to their strengths. They have players that are willing to play that style and it suits them really well. Perhaps that's why they chose Dylan Mcilrath, they think his style of play would really compliment their style and he would have the opportunity to succeed in that system/

Oh a Rangers fan that thinks his team, his players, and his coach are actually good, and not just a product of Lundqvist. There hasn't been one non-Rangers fan that has disagreed with my post.

And btw, there wasnt one game the Rangers played in the playoffs where they didn't get dominated. They didn't deserve to make it past the 1st round, let alone all the way to the ECF. They would've gotten swept and embarrassed by the Kings in the SCF and shown what a fraud of a team they actually are (if you can even call them that. Might as well call them the New York Lundqvists)

Yep, still bitter. Pretty cool that 4 random fans agree with you. Statistically insignificant, but cool.
