Curious for why Mitchell Stephens above Strome? I agree with you actually, but with Stephens's hot and cold streaks it's Strome for most. Also above Korostelev is surprising too, has one of the best one timers Ive ever seen in midget anywhere. Such a pure sniper.

myself I have not seen Korostelev enough but the three times I saw him I was super impressed and wanted to put him 1st round on here but I left him off the 1st round so far until I see him more.

Strome I like his hands, I find him very weak in the games I saw him, even against kids his own age I found him a bit weak....Stephens I have not see a cold game from him, I found him a great talent.

Great to hear from you Scoutman. For me I would have Nick Merkley and Braylon Schmyr in there somewhere if Estephan is that high.

Why? It's lists like this that allow guys like us to learn of players we otherwise would not hear of.

and again another waste of time comment on this board...seems like you like wasting your time looking at posts you are not interested in....I make a living doing scouting, and if I thought like you I would never have gotten to where I am today...I know not everyone wants to be a scout but this board is hockeysfuture is it not, and a scouts job is to try to predict the future is it not, someone has to do this, and I do not mind letting people know a glimps into the future, no one will ever get a draft even 80% correct...and even at the time of the NHL draft most 1st round picks do not turn out like they thought they would, so the list will change but AGAIN AS OF RIGHT NOW this is how i see it, now next year will change again won't it....so you have problems with posts like this do not waste my time nor your time and pass it over to read yet another 100000 of the same posts about Nathan Mackinnon or the 2013 draft which by now is over killed on this site.

First, forget about him. We appreciate your work and sharing your knowledge and experience with us here.

Btw..for the hater...it's not a mock draft..it's rankings.

Scoutman1, lots of people appreciate your rankings, I do. Personnally I like to know propsects 2-3 years before, with your rankings we can follows some players earlyer. Good works! (Do you have a 2016 ranking? or a 2017? )

For Korostelev the more you see of him the more likely he'll rise up for sure. I'm not expecting his wrist injury to hold him back that much. Didn't see today or yesterday but heard he was dominate at the xmas tournament.

I think Strome might have some filling out to do for psychicality, but a lot of his issues are the same issues that people questioned his brother for at the same age.

For Stephens honestly I don't really agree with people saying he has cold games, from what I see when he has "cold games" it looks like he's just bored out there and wants to move onto the next level already. Kinda like Ho-Sang last year, crazy skilled and can turn it on whenever he likes but has gotten bored and just going through the motions.

Ummmmm, bro. Scoutman is a scout for a junior team so he has to focus on the younger players.

Besides that, great list Scoutman! I would have a few changes like Noel in the top 10 and Texeria in the top 20.

Pleasantly surprised to see 2 Hurricanes on this list! Really like Pilon's game, definitely one to watch in the future.

actually it's not hard at all.

what is hard is how to predict which players will grow into much better players in the big spurts that happen at younger ages.

The variance is less as they get older but comments like yours are quite simply a waste of time.

If you don't like the thread, and it's pretty clear what it was about when you entered with the title, why waste your time posting?

It's obvious your interests lie elsewhere with your comment.

ok ill go along with this... here's my input...

-Ryan Pilon should be top 10,
-Kevin Davis should be completely out of that list
-Brad Morrison should be mentioned (25-30 ish)**Him and Harkins will be a deadly 1,2 punch for PG Cougars in WHL for years

**And you are missing a major significant player that should be right behind McDavid and Barzal.. His name is Ryan Gropp (a '96 but has a late birthday).. A 6th overall WHL draft pick to Seattle Thunderbirds that is currently playing for Penticton Vees in the BCHL. He claims he is undecided on WHL or NCAA route. You will see him on Team Pacific. Gropp and Barzal could both end up playing in Seattle next season.

Like I said, I strongly feel it is very difficult ranking players that most have not played any Junior games, but there are very good players over here in BC and Alberta that are very strong players.

One thing that stood out to me: Blake Speers 5'6 that guy better hope he hits a growth spurt soon or something.

The things I'd do to get the Ducks the first overall pick in this draft. McDavid is a special talent.

2 scoutman lists in as many days! It is definitely Xmas time!

Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us as you actually seen these guys play.

2 quick questions:
- Where does Noah Hannifin fit in that list?
- I thought some folks mentioned Carrier was not overwhelming this year in Gatineau. You still see him progress into a first rounder in two years and a half?

Thanks for the list! I appreciate the effort.

And have you been able to see Mikko Rantanen? Few Finns compare him to Armia and what do you think of his potential.

I would also like to hear about what you think about Julius Nättinen

Well, I saw him last listed at 5'8'' 145.
Also, the stats there don't even do him justice, as his real line was 142-146-288 in 97.
He's a late 97 though (12-02-1997), so he's 2016.
Mitch Marner or Dante Salituro are very similar though and are eligible for this draft.

Also, glad to see you back scoutman!

Jesse Gabrielle, playing for Eagin HS in Minnesota, Brandon draft pick should be a special player, big power forward already averaging 1.5ppg as a grade 9 in a good league

Agree of Hanifin. A lot of folks in the USAH circles think he's better than Werenski, although both seem to be blue chippers at this stage. He's supposedly headed to the NTDP next year.

rink net has his birthday as a late 97 so that is why i did not have him ranked untill 2016....but I just checked the website and he is a regualr 97............if Hanifin is a regular he is def top 10 in the draft....he is the best defender I have seen in a long time, I hope he comes QMJHL...he is just so smart, he plays with such a high IQ, his shot is awsome, he is a great skater, and very poised and smooth with the puck, Hanifin. I would fit him right after Eichel on my list, and drop Jeremy Roy out of the 1st round.
