Yep, still bitter. Pretty cool that 4 random fans agree with you. Statistically insignificant, but cool.
So according to stats...
McDonagh is not a top 25 Dmen in the league...
Lundqvist is not a top 3 goalie in the league...
And Kreider is a future bust who can't even put up decent numbers in the AHL...

Good to know.
And yet they still beat your lofty, cupless Caps. How embarrassing.
I would give up a decent prospect or pick from the Sens. We need a defenceman if there is a season and I've always like his play (when healthy). I'd probably also inquire about Stralman.

Though its not surprising that a Toronto fan would have trouble spotting a good team.
I'm not sure if you know this or not; but the goal of any team is to win the Stanley Cup. You are bragging that you lost in that goal. Yes, 28 other teams lost, and guess what? They are in the same position as the Rangers. Get off your high horse, and realize that the all-mighty Rangers are not the best team in the league.
This about the value of Sauer, not about the Rangers failure to win a Cup.
In the 21 games that Biron started for the Rangers they earned 26 points. Extrapolated out over an 82 game season that puts the Rangers at around 102 points, solidly in the playoffs, and still 9 points better than the caps. But whatever helps you sleep at night.

What does that have to do with the value of Sauer?

It was until people started making uninformed comments about how terrible the Rangers are. Of course the goal is to win the Stanley cup, but it doesn't mean that there aren't positives for teams that didn't win. It also doesn't mean that all other 29 teams are crap. Except the for the leafs, of course.
As for Sauer, when healthy he is a 2nd pairing guy on a lot of teams, a 3rd pairing guy on a stacked team. All that is moot however as he might not ever play again.

So you're calling the Rangers a stacked team? Take off the homer glasses bro the Rangers are not some elite team. They've made it to the East Finals one year.

No, I said he's a second pairing defenseman on a lot of teams, like he was on the Rangers, but on a stacked team he would be a 3rd pairing guy. If anything the implication was that the Rangers were not a stacked team.

i watched about 30-40 rangers games last year and just don't see why people think sauer is anything more then a #5 defenceman who can fill in as a #4 for short time periods

I thought he was on the Rangers third pairing though

Sauer only played 19 games for the Rangers last year. Might be why you didn't notice him. The year before when healthy he was a regular on the second pair.

doesn't really change the fact the from the games of his i saw and from his icetime stats he was used like a third pairing defenceman, yet from some posts you would think he was the messiah

You claimed to watch him in 30-40 games LAST YEAR, when he only played 19. Forgive us if we don't trust you here...

He said he watched Ranger games, not "Ranger games he was in". Practice reading comprehension, and maybe you will make a valid point. It's his opinion from what he saw, and it seems to be the general opinion of people in the thread.
