IIHF World ChampionshipDiscuss International Tournaments like the WJC, Olympics, and World Cup, as they take place, or discuss past tournaments. performances.
The IIHF needs to stop babying professional athletes and start learning a thing or two from the North American game where we play like men and not babies in diapers.
Funny northamericans have stubbornly debated for years how the iihf refs are fine, first year in forever u dont get special treatment to get away with ur crap and ur whining?
Justice is a wonderful thing

I have never been behind this garbage.
Tyler Biggs: 2 minutes for body contact vs Germany
Anthony Camara: 2 minutes for body contact vs Germany
Anthony Camara: 5 minutes for body contact and a game misconduct because that player was an idiot and didn't protect himself

what are you saying? nobody has ever said that...EVER!!!
The trend of embellishment was started by Slovaks. Blame them and then the refs. The guy lays on the ice like he's dead and then scores on PP. The penalty was WELL DESERVED (won't argue that) but that's sickening.... but refs call it that way. Team Canada adapted.
About every canadian on this forum in previous tournaments when u got away with exactly everything that gave other countries free tickets to the penalty box. You get just what you deserve now.
Considering camara left the slovak with a bloody mouth and nose. I think it's pretty safe to say he made contact with his head. Should be 3 games minimum for the headshot. Should get 5 though.
There's no justice in kicking a guy out of a game for a clean hit.
I get sick of a lot of the borderline Canadian play and people crying about the IIHF, but it doesn't do anything for anybody to penalize a guy for playing within the rules.
Another just wtf pointless call was that call on Ritchie (I think) for a weak poke at the goalie just as the whistle gets blown. Like just let em play!

I for one did not and I happen to be Canadian. Every year it's always the same thing, it's always talked about before international tournaments. They need to be prepared for a different style of officiating. It definitely is called different from CHL or any other NA league.
Bobby Mac thinks no suspension for either. Lipon served the whole game essentially and the player wasn't hurt. Camara's was clean anyways... Even if it's questionable, the Slovaks were well compensated. Injury to the player sucks but that hit was a clean hit.

His head was down because in the IIHF they don't learn to play with their head up because there's no fear of body contact.
I have no idea why there's so whining about the diving when this is actually what those refs are understanding. The IIHF refereeing makes the NFL replacement referees hall of famers....
