For the gamblers out there Slovakia was paying 17x your bet before the game, would of loved to bet that haha (example : $10 = $170)

Nice goal by Strome. Emulated Galchenyuk goal from yesterday.

That definately looked like a clean hit. I would need to see a replay where we see how many steps Camara takes, but at most that's a 2 for charging. Nothing more.

Someone on the mainboards put it best IMO: ''Clean hit, nothing called. Pull the stretcher out, 5 minutes and a game. That's ****ing BS''

Edit: Just saw a replay, that was not a charge.

Wow honestly, can they review the refs instead of Camara? Nothing is called, the guy is down...bleeds....oops, 5 minutes. Camara did nothing wrong. If they suspend him, that would be grand larceny.

Are people really wondering why Tom Wilson didn't make the team? He'd be suspended for the whole tournament.....Totally stupid refereeing.

Apparently a ref on the ice told Camara it was a clean hit

Tremendous one-timer by Collberg on the power play to make it 1-1!

Beauty one timer from Collberg, I have a feeling we will be seeing that a lot from a feed from Gally in a few years.

Can't believe we fell behind 2 goals twice to Slovakia. Yikes.

Gotta love Collberg the sniper.

Really clean and beautiful hit. Unfortunate that he's injured but that's life. Lipon on the other hand went ham with the forearm in the face...

Lipon hit was dirty, no need for a forearm follow-through. Don't think it's worthy of a suspension though.

Camara hit was clean. Not surprised at the misconduct since it's international hockey, but additional discipline shouldn't even be a question there.

I just watched the highlights, is it just me or has Subban really not been impressive yet? 6 goals against vs. Germany and Slovakia? What's going to happen against Sweden, USA, Russia...?

I was a proponent of Subban getting the starting job before the tourney but I'm wondering now if a switch to Binnington wouldn't be the right move...

Camara won't be suspended. Good work, IIHF. Finally.

IIHF indicates there will be no supplementary discipline review for CAN's Anthony Camara.
Lipon is under review and likely will see at least 1-game. Deserved.

Team CAN has been informed by IIHF it is officially's reviewing J.C. Lipon's check to head major and GM for possible further discipline.

Wow, I'm a bit surprised the Czechs beat the Finns. I had high expectations for Finland in this tournament.

agreed on Subban. He hasn't been terrible but he hasn't been very good since the camp opened. Although I have him as the n'1 and all, I'm not a fan of giving jobs before players earn them. I prefer the formula the Russians are using with Vasilevskiy and Makarov. Each get an "easy" game and each get a "tough" game, from that point on you make your decision. The decision would likely be Subban even if he wasn't lights out but at least he'd have to earn it and get a sense that he's like everybody else on the team and have to earn his playing time.

That division is wide open.

Czech's beat Finland, lost to Sweden.
Switzerland beat Latvia, lost to Sweden in OT.

Any one of those four teams could take this division.

I wasn't a big fan of the way Spott named the starter either. He goes on TSN to say that whoever is named the starter will be expected to run the whole way for Canada, and names Subban the starter on Christmas Day. So now if you switch to Binnington it becomes this whole big controversy about Subban "losing the job" whereas if you just said something like "we'll start with Subban and evaluate his play from game to game", it wouldn't be nearly as big a deal if you had to switch to Binnington at some point.

Like I said before, I would go with a 2nd goalie only if the guy is tremendously bad. You don't play in heads of kids. You name your #1 and stick with him. It's already nerveracking to play in this tournament, not necessary to play your life every single game as well even in preliminaries. Subban hasn't been incredible, but he wasn't bad either. He did make some great saves, yet, let in some number of goals as well. It's all about thinking he'll get his groove back and be incredibly solid when it counts. The guy has the season so far. And is not really bad. Deserve the starter job. And should keep it unless he totally blew the US game by himself.
