Also, I have spent 13 hours putting my parents' new toys together; new PC, sound system, and Blu Ray player. I also had to assemble and put the damned luminaries out. Christmas is hard work

the latest storm was heavily hyped here and once again it flopped. wed. night they said 12-18 inches for late wed night and thursday. we might have got 5 or 6 inches out of it.
maybe a few more inches of snow this weekend. Maybe one day the NWC will get it right.
I know whoever is in charge of naming storms probably doesn't care too much about the names. If they did, they'd know that Freyr was the Norse god associated with prosperity, sunshine and fair weather.

Bizarre. Only 2 days ago the reports I saw for the whole east coast topped out at around 6 inches, with some going a little over. So they had it right for a while then bumped it up, I guess. I've always felt they have incentive to inflate all their storm numbers so nobody gets caught by surprise and overprepares.
So I'm back in Philly for the holidays and one of my uncles was showing me an old jersey from my great grandfather. Apparently he played minor league baseball with a minor stint for the Athletics in 1932. I'm trying to do research on this, but I can't seem to find anything on it. Apparently he played for the minor league team in Glenside. Anyone know anything about Glenside's past minor league team or know where/how I could find more info on this?

yeah the initial reports had 4-7 and then less then a day before the snow was supposed to start they started upping the amounts. Of course everyone was freaking out going to the store, getting gas ect ect. Some areas did get a foot or so around here but a majority of the state got 5-6 inches.
We are getting more snow tonight. Ski areas are loving it. this snow when the kids are on vacation.

maybe the Glenside COC can help you out.
there is this as well. This doesnt have Glenside being a MLB affiliate tho.
Great way to end 2012/begin 2013...was chopping onions early this morning to put in the crock pot for my NYE party tonight before I left for work this morning (because I forgot to do it last night). Sliced into my finger and had to go to the ER. Not too bad, got some liquid stitches or whatever this **** is (although it is still bleeding through them and the band-aid).
Has anyone ever filed an insurance claim for their phone? I just got a brand new Galaxy S3 over the weekend and just got the insurance for it yesterday (THANK GOD). Broke it this morning when it fell out of my pocket (Gorilla Glass is not as strong as the internet would have you believe). Anyway, anyone have any idea of how quickly or if I will get a new phone or how it works? Just filed a claim today. 2013 is not a good year for me thus far.
I have sprint and I can just take my phone to a sprint shop and they'll replace it
OT : What's with oilers fans trying to trade Yakupov away so early. They claim he will come in a put up 70+ points right away, and they want to trade him.
I was at Reading Terminal Market over the weekend and there was a guy wearing a Flyers winter hat so my family asked him about it and turns out he doesn't even watch the Flyers, he just liked the colors.

Should take like 2 days; maybe less, depending how early in the day you filed.

He needs to learn to use his teammated. Going 1 on 3 isn't going to get him 70 points.
Just want to throw out there that I'm embarrassed to have Tom Corbett as my governor and I can't wait to have the opportunity to vote him out of office.

It's an interesting thought, considering his recent actions, but think of this: Was the PSU scandal actively in the forefront of the majority of people's minds in the past few months prior to him wanting to sue or have we largely put it in the back of our collective consciousness? Like most news, it'll blow over, and come election time in 18 months or so we'll have moved on and forgotten about it.
But if you can keep this as a motiviation 'til then, kudos.
