Barber with 2 assists through only one period. Playing on Galchenyuk's line.

An just as I post it, he scores.

Goal Barber 15s into the 2nd! That line (really, Galchenyuk) is money.

I really like this USA squad.

Good to hear that Barber and Galchenyuk are clicking... just turned the game on 10 minutes ago.

Can't understand why Germany is not a hockey power at this point. Big, essentially Nordic country with a huge, wealthy population, a country that prospers in all other winter sports, as evidenced by all the medals they rack up at the Winter Games. And yet in hockey, they're still kind of a joke.

Not knowing any specific details but maybe they simply don't have the youth hockey development system in place.

Investment. Norway is same way, less hockey rinks and no outdoor ones in compared to Finland and Sweden.

Yeah, Norway is (almost) all about skiing.

Though in my opinion, Norway and Germany are making giantic leaps forward. Like Switzerland 15 years ago.

Forsberg and Sweden playing against Switzerland right now.. Swiss lead 2-1 after 2 periods. Not the best game from Filip so far.

Looks like Barber just got a Trouba bomb deflected off of him into the net. Not sure if it'll count for Barber or Trouba... 1-1 late in the 2nd.

I remember thinking last year that Galchenyuk was better than Yakupov because Yakupov can't pretend to be Ovechkin in a men's league, he's too small.

Honestly how long did it take the US to become a hockey power?

Russia players are pretty dirty players this year, cross checking faces, checking from behind to bad the players cant police the game in international games or you would be seeing them having to fight for those cheap plays

People saying Forsberg sucked, but he had 10 shots today...

I'm starting to think Swedes just don't understand power forwards.

Hope we get a very high pick in the draft lottery.

Thing about Nichushkin is he apparently according to the TSN commentators, has 2 years left on his contract after this year.

In other words, he reneged on going to the CHL and signed a 3 year contract. He really wanted to fall in the draft I guess.

I wouldn't say he sucked. But this was he's worst game so far, imo. He didn't use he's linemates well. And got pretty invisible towards the end. Swiss played good though.

What kind of puck hog was he? If he was like Laich, then thats a problem, but some people are saying his line mates are sucking too, so in that case some times players turn into puck hogs because their line maters aren't open or are just playing terrible.

I only watched half of the USA vs Russia game this morning but Galchenyuk didn't impress me from what I saw. Barber and Kuraly seemed to be providing energy while Glachenyuk seemed to float around and turn the puck over. Makarov was the key to Russia winning that game he played really well.

Well with Laich it's more like he doesn't know how to use his linemates, he doesn't have the skill. Forsberg has it. But he's forcing the play, trying to do too much. Did some bad decisions on pp, kept the puck long and weak wrister with no screen..

But yeah, Rakell and Karlsson haven't been lights out.. we'll see if they mix up the lines a bit.

It was Gally's worst game by far. He was really dominant against Germany.. lesser competition though.

I can't recall the exact numbers but he's been dominant against non-PO teams in OHL but only good to ok against playoff teams.
