Nick Swisher just got 4/56M from Cleveland.

jesus ****ing christ. He's a solid player and all, but definitely took advantage of RF in the new Yankee Stadium. Going to be a big change from that park, to the massive field in Cleveland.

Definitely hurt Illinois that they let the game be so physical

Will be nice to see him on Indians

Lots of strikeouts for our pitchers coming vs him

Whoa, Ryan Freel committed suicide this morning via shotgun.

Didn't he have a decent amount of concussion issues?

Urbina is out of prison, was still a good pitcher when he left and will turn 39 in February. I'd be interested to see how he is throwing. Some team will give him a tryout if he can still bring it.

Bears who made the Probowl:

Brandon Marshall
Julius Peppers
Henry Melton
Charles Tillman
Tim Jennings

All 5 are starters.

Wrong Thread. Posted in Bears thread too.

I was thinking if the Cubs traded Garza for Olt and a good pitching prospect, then trade any of the following having good years (hopefully all) Villanueva, Feldman, Baker, Schierholtz, keep Olt, package the rest together, that's probably going to produce a very attractive package for Stanton. You can basically get Stanton for nothing. I hope that is part of the plan, converting the returns into a huge package for one excellent young player. Why wouldn't you do that? Just look at a guy like Vizcaino, get 3 or 4 more guys like that back in trade, put them all together and you are there. Plus, they already know what/who Florida wants so they already have the blueprint.

I don't think there is a package of prospects you could trade for Stanton that the Marlins would want.

Starts with Baez, and maybe Starlin as well.

Also, Olt isn't the youngest prospect... he's already 24, and would be pushing 25 by the time that deal could even be done.

Ya, Starlin, Baez, probably one or two pitching prospects might get him for you.

Garza plus Soriano and/or Marmol (we pay most of salary) for Olt and Perez

Baker and Villanueva and/or Schierholtz for Gary Sanchez (NYY)

Add some of our own guys

P Martin Perez (#31 in top 100)
P Aroldys Vizcaino (#40 in top 100)
OF Matt Szczur (#64 in top 100)
C Gary Sanchez (#81 in top 100)
1B Dan Vogelbach

You don't think they would take that?

I think the problem is they're going to want a super-stud prospect with generational talent, and not a bunch of very good prospects.

No chance. They can get a lot better than that. None of those guys are elite prospects. Bauer was the #9 prospect and just got traded for Shin-Soo Choo. James Shields just was traded for Will Meyers (#28) and Jake Odorizzi (#68). Stanton is probably one of the 10 most valuable players in baseball right now. It would take a kings ransom to get him out of Miami.

I'd rather have Buckel from the Rangers than Perez. Perez hasn't really progressed in the areas he's needed to in order to make the next step.

Heard this talked about a few times on the radio, I wonder if the Bulls could get Demarcus Cousins as he's worn out his welcome in Sacramento.

Cousins is a great player.

He's also a huge baby. Despite the apparent fall from grace in Sacramento, he'd still be costly to acquire and I doubt he'd last even a single week under Thibodeau.

Plus I'm perfectly content with Joakim at center, given he's currently one of the very best in the game.

Hell to the no on Cousins.

This screams Pat Riley, though.

I was going to say trade for him, but I though of this first. This is the guy to go after. I believe the Bulls could acquire him, but the smarter organizational move is to wait until FA.

I doubt that'll be an option. He can opt out after the 2014-2015 season, so I think the Wolves will make sure they trade him if they feel he's going to.

I was one of the first on these boards to advocate going after KLove, but I think at the end of the day he might just be a stat compiler. Think Boozer+.

Love would be a lot more than Boozer+. He's one of the best PFs in the game and would be a great fit with Rose. Plus having Noah and Love as the 4 and 5 would be pretty intimidating. I don't think the Bulls are good enough to beat the Heat and a guy like Love could be what they need.

i don't think so. he's got a good outside shot and is a beast in the paint. true matchup nightmare especially with a guy like rose. pick and rolls would be deadly
