Until I see Ranger do anything of significance in the NHL (after his long NHL layoff), Komi will be the better defenseman. Carlyle will know how to use Komiserek in his system and frankly we need some defensive defensemen.

Also I think Komiserek is the only right handed defenseman we have (unless franson is resigned).

Get rid of Komi is all I say. I don't care how he plays the next season. We've suffered enough of him the past few seasons.

What an absurd thing to say. So even if he puts together one of his best seasons, he's still terrible? That doesn't make sense.

Hopefully he can play better in Carlyle's system. It's a contract year for him aswell. I think he'll be motivated.

The NHL offer to the NHLPA today included compliance buyout(s).

If he only plays well on his contract year, there's no point in resigning him. We're better off not resigning him next year.

I realize that, I'm not talking about re-signing him. You said he's terrible no matter what he does this upcoming season. Which supports the classic scapegoat thought process.

On a separate note, has the starting goaltender been named tonight?

The guy must be a miracle worker. We should send Reimer to work with him immidiately, who knows, we may have our superstar goalie when the season resumes.

Looks largely like a gimmic. Each buyout would likely result in every team's cap ceiling being lowered. I wouldn't get too excited about it at this point.

Carlyle will favour Ranger and Holzer over Reilly right now.

Phaneuff - Liles
Gunner - Holzer
Ranger - Gardiner

Sub(7th):Komi/Franson.

I doubt the Leafs will rush Reilly when we have Gardiner and Liles.

Updated title and hopefully we win tomorrow and kadri is back. Nifty mittens would've been nice in the shootout.

I'd rather him spend the year next season with the Marlies. Like moving up a ladder. Move up one step at a time.

Except he won't be eligible for the Marlies, so it's either Juniors or the NHL.
