I don't think we should be complaining about whining witj Scheifle flopping all game. ( Not hating on him, but it really bugged me.)
The officiating necessitated it. Players were getting 5 minute majors for something that the refs didn't think was penalty-worthy until minutes after the fact.
Is it just me, or was the way the Slovakian team and medical staff handled the player that Camarra hit absolutely ridiculous?!?
3 players rushed to him immediately, trying to make him sit up, medical staff rushing to get him on the stretcher and then literally RUNNING down the ice with the stretcher, not even slowing down when they went over the bump to get off the ice. Atrocious. Do they not know anything about treating an injured player?
The last thing you do is force the guy to try and sit-up right away or rush him off the ice(unless his life is in danger). Every single minor hockey coach in Canada should know better than that!
It's probably the Canucks medical staff. So, so dumb.
With all the talk of Lipon getting suspended (I've got a sneaking suspicion many don't mind in order for some more favourable forwards to get more ice time), I'm wondering why there isnt more talk of Rapac getting suspended as well?
Personally, I don't think either of them deserve to be suspended but I just don't see Lipon's hit being any more dangerous than the Rapac knee.

Thoughts?
Loll you are correct the only thing going for him is his hair. At first I thought it was another player who got his arm up but once the announcer said it was lipon I was relieved. Spot is the reason we are in panic mode. The games vs Germany and Slovakia should have been line experimenting games. At least we got to see mackinnon play. Hope spottt wakes up.
Could just be the fact that English isn't his native tongue.
I'm sure he knows the difference between one and two. He handled the interview which was over a minute just fine. I hate when people use that excuse. Sometimes it can be valid, but its always used as an excuse.

This.
The whole situation was handled so poorly. You have to suspect a head/neck injury and maintain head/neck stabilization.
Couldn't believe they were tossing him around like that.
Hey Leaf fan, we get it, you wish Rielly were being played more. We don't need every other post suggesting some kind of HC conspiracy. Rielly is a PP specialist during this tournament. Nothing wrong with that. Plenty of time to watch him in Toronto and brag on the internet.
In the meantime, just enjoy the tournament and let everyone do the same.
Exactly. If Hamilton doesn't go into that corner sliding on his knees, his face doesn't get rubbed into the boards by the other guy's ass. It was interference for sure, but if Hamilton's on his feet, there's not cut to his chin. I'm almost done with Hamilton, to be honest. Possibly the defenseman I'm most disappointed with (except for his stretch passes, which are hard and very accurate), and seeing him complain and throw his helmet on the ice after getting to the bench after that little nick to the chin just soured me even more. He should fit in well in Boston.
loving Hamilton for Boston...All the hate on this site just proves how much people are envious of him!!
and, all Scheifle's so called flopping...if you have watched him play in the OHL for Barrie, he does that there too! he just enjoys the game like a young kid would!
I know the Lipon hit was a hit to the head and thus deserving of a penalty, but in reality, he didn't hit him hard enough to knock a feather off his shoulder. I hate the embellishment, and I hate it just as much when our guys do it. TSN commented on how after those calls our guys started flopping in order to even it out, and I agree it appears we have to do that in order to get the same level of calls from the refs.
But I still hate it. I think we should maintain our same type of play, and let the chips fall where they may. If the officials are going to call no-contact hockey and attempt to influence the game, then I say we keep our heads and still play the right way. The way we are taught to play, hard-nosed and with our heads up and physical. I know that some of the European leagues are basically no contact, so in a way I can understand the officials calling the games that way, but I just think we should not change in order to win. In a way, I would rather lose playing the game the way it should be played than flopping all over the ice to get calls from officials that don't know the difference between a real injury and a fake one.
