The Rebels fell hard to the Rockets 6-1 on Saturday. Wyatt Johnson had the lone goal in that game. Scott Feser(Also my Cousin) had the lone assist on the goal. He got a call-up from midget due to some injuries. And with that loss the Rebels stay in 3rd in the Central Divsion with 43 points, and 4th in the Eastern Conference. The Rebels take on Kootenay at home on tuesday in there last game before Christmas Holidays. I'm going to the game, so let's put up a win.

The Oil Kings took on the same Victoria Royals on Saturday night and won 5-2. Tristan Jarry was pretty solid stopping 24/26 shots faced against. Corbett, St. Croix, Foster, Lowe and Baddock scored for us. Then again today in an afternoon match-up the Oil Kings faced the Regina Pats. It was a slow first period but then the flood gates were opened, we spanked the Pats 8-1. Laurent Brossoit got his first start back in the cage after being cut from Canada's World Junior team and he was solid, stopping 20/21 shosts faced again. Our goal scorer's were Wilson, Baddock, Foster with 2 and St. Croix with 4! T.J Foster finished with 2 goals and 2 assists, Dylan Wruck finished with 4 helpers and St. Croix finished with 4 goals! Sammy also had 3 helpers.

St. Croix sits in 11th in WHL scoring(really 9th but tied with Nicholls and Shinkaruk) for 44 points, with 19 goals and 25 assists in 34 games played. Dylan Wruck sits right behind him(tied in 12th with Stransky) for 43 points, with 11 goals and 32 assists in 30 games played! T.J. Foster is tied in 20th with 6 other players for 38 points, he has 16 goals and 22 assists in 34 games. Henrik Samuelsson sits in 28th tied with 3 other guys for 36 points(16 goals and 20 assists) in 34 games played. The Oil Kings sit in 2nd in the Central Division one point back from the leading Calgary Hitmen(49-50) and are in 3rd in the Central Division behind Prince Albert and sed Calgary. Edmonton has a huge game on tuesday VS. Calgary and then play a home in home when the Christmas break is over.

If he turns out like his brother then there's a future player to put the team around!

The Oil Kings took on the Calgary Hitmen in a big clash of the best of the best in the league and Eastern Conference/Central Division. And it was sweet to see that the Oil Kings took the game and picked up a win, 4-1. Sammy had a pair of goals(which brings him to 18 on the season, he also added a helper), Corbett and Lazar(with a helper) also added goals. Laurent Brossoit was good stopping what he needed to with 15/16 shots. Looks like the Oil Kings dominated for the most part so that's good to see. That's a sweet win to get right before the Christmas Break becuase that moves us into 1st in the Eastern Conference and Central Division with 51 points.

Also, down the highway the Rebels took on the Kootenay Ice. The Ice were coming off of 4 games in 5 nights and so they were tired and vulnerable and boy did we take advantage. We scored 5 unawnsered goals all in the first. Mackenzie Snapski came in for releif of Wyatt Holflin though and was steller stopping 23/23 shots. Bolton Pouliot was good in his own right stopping 27/28 shots faced against, we need this good goaltending from Pouly as Patty is with the Czech's. Dieno(also with a helper), Stockl, Johnson, Pochuk(playing as a forward for tonights game) and Elson(Also with a helper) scored for us. So Dieno, Elson and Miller all finished with a multi point night. It was a great game, and it moved us closer and closer to the big dogs of Calgary and Edmonton. Let's come back strong after this Christmas Break. And after it we have a home-in-home with Edmonton so it's tough for me to see anyone lose here but they will be entertaining games, nonetheless.

It was a crazy game down in Edmonton tonight! My 2 favorite Dub teams and arguably the top 2 hottest teams in the Dub faced off. It was an ultimate shoot-out, where no lead was safe. Here's the scoring summary:

1. R.D W. Johnson, (8) (B. Underwood, K. Doetzel), 1:18
1. R.D T. Elson, (11) (D. Fafard), 3:30
1. R.D M. Dumba, (8) (B. Gaudet, D. Volek), 5:37 (PP)
1. EDM M. St. Croix, (20) (T. Foster), 12:17
1. EDM T. Ewanyk, (5) (H. Samuelsson, M. Moroz), 18:36
2. R.D B. Maxwell, (3) (R. Dieno, D. Fafard), 3:27
2. EDM T. Foster, (17) (C. Corbett, M. St. Croix), 16:18
3. R.D M. Dumba, (9) (B. Gaudet), 16:32 (PP)

Nice to see Dumba finish with a pair of goals. Bolton Pouliot was a beast tonight in net turning aside 53/56 shots against. The Rebs take on the Oil Kings again 2mrw. This time in our barn. I will be going to the game, it should be a gooder!

Nice to see the Oil Kings bounce back and light up the Rebels 6-1 in their own barn.

Lazar lit up Fafard too. Have to think Fafard would think long and hard about ever dropping the mitts with him again.

Edit: Just found this gem on twitter........

Kelly Friesen ‏@KellyFriesen

Told from a solid source Alex Forsberg has asked for a trade from PG

Aaron Irving or a depth pick. How much is half a season of Ferland worth?

I hope the Hurricanes make some moves to bolster up. Currently the youngest team in the league, yet are 5th in the conference only 6 points behind Red Deer. Very skilled, speedy team but are lacking size. Could use a big top-6 forward, as they only have 2 above 6', Hood and Axel Blomqvist, and Blomqvist doesn't exactly play the way you would think a normal 6'5" player would. Could also use a 3rd line grinder to compliment all the speed and skill and address the lack of size. On defense they could use a top-6 guy to replace Albin Blomqvist who stayed at home in Sweden due to a concussion.

While the Hurricanes aren't contenders yet, I do think they can make some noise in the playoffs, and have proven they can play with anyone. Hopefully we see some moves here to bolster the team to help them get there.

Didn't see Alex against Victoria last night, I'm going tonight to see if he's playing or not.

I am actually curious where Forsberg will go. I can see Tri-City, Victoria, Kelowna, Medicine Hat, and Seattle (maybe even Saskatoon) go after him.

Can't see Portland, Edmonton, Red Deer, Swift Current, or Lethbridge go after him.

Anyone have a guess as to where Forsberg will end up?

How about Ferland, out with an injury or pending move?

Brandon surely won't keep him but he is hard to move as he is an over age player.

Will Edmonton add anyone to make a run as well, East is very competitive this year.

Havn't been around much lately to do any updates on the Rebels and Oil Kings. Havn't been able to listen/watch or go to any games for that matter either lately.

Where did you here the Oil Kings might snag Ferland?

I hope he goes to Edmonton or Red Deer.

Strange trade for Lethbridge. No idea why they would move Merkley. Must be some off ice or dressing room stuff going on.

No one here knows either. As strictly a hockey trade, this is terrible. Merkley has huge potential and I would not be surprised to see him breakout now.

The Canes did need size and physicality upfront, but definitely not at the expense of a core player.

Mitchell Chapman is out for the rest of the season, big blow to the Rocket's defense.

That seems kind of strange. Looking like they will be hard pressed to make the playoffs. Could be in last place in the EC after tonight. I wonder if they made a deal with him not to move him?

Nice to see he was back in the lineup tonight though.
