So yes, Letang is probably one of the 15-20 "top 5" defensemen around the league.
Wouldn't there be 5 top 5 defenseman? Seriously?

I understand it may change who they are every season, but I am pretty sure there can only be 5.

It's pretty obvious what he was trying to say.

This deal obviously isn't finalized, so debate which should add more.
This deal is terrible for the Penguins.

We give up three key pieces of our defence for what? One good player and two others who would find it hard to get into our team on a regular basis.

If the Pens were to give Letang, Morrow and Fleury to Toronto we'd be asking for Kessel, Reilly and a winger back at least.

Why would the Pens give up their #1 defenseman at all? I'm still completely confused by this idea.

We scored more than anybody without Sid last year, were monumentally terrible defensively when it mattered, and yet some people think it's prudent to trade away Letang for another scorer and leave Paul Martin as our #1. It's baffling. Whatever else is added, we become a worse team.

I don't think we should trade him away but I'm just saying what I think would be needed. Even then that probably wouldn't be anything near enough.

Absolutely love letang and he is for sure top 5 or 6 dman in the gsme his defense is underrated too. With that said i don't need anymore defenseman and would not trade our best forward for that

both Gardiner and Reimer would be a regular if fleury and Letang were going the other way

leafs do this deal every day of the week... I would rather do Kessel + Grabovski + Gardiner + top 10 pick for Malkin though. (yes i no this would never happen so chill)

Kulemin - Malkin - Lupul
JVR - Bozak - Macarthur

Neal - Crosby - Kessel
Kunitz - Grabovski - Dupuis
