I'm glad I was right about Yakupov.

Meh, OK game, but pp and finishing need a lot of work. Too many mistakes on the 1st pass too.

True, but in the end they ended up with the silver medal, so they clearly beat some good teams.

Probably why Florida picked him. Looking like a decent selection,

Unfortunately, I was only able to catch a small part of the game myself...How did Grigorenko look out there?

Most of of these Germany's "shots" didn't look like shots at all.

Yeah, those Russian bunglers can't play hockey. All those lectures from the Experts on these forums have fallen on deaf ears

Still - over 40 shots got through to the Russian net? That seems like quite a high number. Odd....

Although this is a so-called "Dream Team" year where many have all but garanteed a Canadian victory, I think the explosiveness has to go to the Russians over any other team I have seen so far. That makes Team Russia the most dangerous and favourite to win the gold, in my opinion. I am hoping for a big game from our goaltender and some good shut-down D, but I am not sure Team Canada's defence can match the forwards of the Russians.

In the first and second period he was a maestro, two primary assists and could have had 3 or 4 more as well as a couple of goals.

In the latter portion of the 3rd period when the game was out of reach, he was a floating giveaway machine, two or three of the worst shifts I've seen.

Thought the Russians pretty much coasted today, other than Vasilevski none of the Russians stood out.

Based on their performance to date (average score 8-1 over 3 games), it would probably be pretty hard for a team to get motivated to play Germany. If no one was injured, I'm sure they'll happily accept the result.

43 shots, but not many actual scoring opportunities. The most important statistic is 7-0, although 1-0 would have been sufficient.

Gorgeous saucer pass on the first goal. Grigorenko just looks like one of those players that the game slows down to half speed for - he knows where he needs to feed the puck before anyone else even gets turned around.
