Looks like the whole Green Bay receiving core will be healthy. Cook is coming back for Minnesota but may be rusty. Winfield has a broken hand. Expect the Packers to be aggressive early, put up points, make Ponder beat them, and limit Peterson as much as they can.

I'm going with Pack 21 Minnesota 17. I see Minnesota controlling the clock a lot, but the Pack can score easily without much of time.

It all depends on who scores first. Ponder must make an impact if the Pack jump ahead. If Minnesota gets ahead, you keep Rodgers and company off the field.

Terrible news about Conte

Bears have no safety depth ,, Gonna need to pressure Stafford

Without Melton that will be an issue as we are not getting any pressure up middle with Okoye/etc right now

• Word around the league is that Detroit's Jim Schwartz, the Arizona Cardinals’ Ken Whisenhunt and Chicago’s Lovie Smith are all expected to survive for another season. That expectation is based largely on the conservative approach that all three teams have historically taken with firing coaches, particularly when those coaches have money still owed to them.

Just read from Jason Wilde, apparently the ESPN Milwaukee guy, that Cobb will likely not play.

Regardless of what happens on Sunday, I would be fine with Lovie staying - as long as he agrees to completely wipe his offensive staff. And the first guy I want gone is Darryl Drake.

why would you want lovie? he's picked his staff and continually hired incompetent people. bears offense and talent pool is a joke right now because of lovie...

I think there's a good chance he gets to finish out his deal.

I suspect it might end up being like with Dick Jauron's ending here. Fire your assistants or else, and he might refuse to fire the assistants. but thanks for pointing this out...I would add in that Emery would have to be responsible for replacing all offensive assistants that were let go.

What's bothering me is Darryl Drake has been our WR coach for what almost 10 years? Our WR's continually are bad, run poor routes and are terrible at getting separation. Yet they keep bringing this guy back. What exactly does he bring to the table?

if you can't trust your head coach to pick assistants/personnell, them why is he still your coach? his firing is over due. he shoulda been leading martz, drake, tice, and marinelli out the door last year. and if emery has any power and or balls he should clean house now and stop delaying the inevitable. tired of wasting season after season supporting a team that's run like its still 1995

If it's a money issue, demote him to D coordinator. He'll resign before letting all the head jobs go. Another option would be trading him.

Wont improve the team because no one wants to work for a lame duck coach which is what Lovie would be going into year

Wont get any quality Offensive coaches knowing they could be fired in a year

Marinelli's D has been fine

Bears D currently has allowed the 2nd fewest pts in NFL while scoring the most

so what? the defense is lovie's anyway and if were cleaning house we dump all of lovie's lackeys. not to mention, the defense has faded substantially since the first half. it stat pads against bad teams then fails to come up with stops against better teams (sea, gb, sf). defense is going to look completely different in 2-3 years anyway so its the perfect time to move away from lovie, all his buddies and their schemes

Marinelli has been one making calls and making personel substitutions on D

It is his D ,, Lovie has input but he doesn't actively control it

Also

The Bears D failed in Sea game and was humiliated in SF

But outside of that they have been fine ,,, Infact vs the Packers the D has not been an issue as they have held them to 23 and 21 pts (With offensive failings not helping them)

The D has been strong vs playoff/playoff bubble teams such as Hou/Min/Dal/Ind ,, But you seem to ignore that

Also Marinelli has always been regarded as one of the best DL coaches in NFL

The development of Melton into star caliber DT and the improvements of Paea/Wootton speak volumes to his teaching

Lets not forget he is universally credited by Sapp and other Buc players for making them into elite defenders

any team willing to waste a high pick on geno Smith would deserve to get boned. dudes been terrible since like week 5. and people who pimp him as a valid top 10 pick are either braindead or never saw him play

Dustin Keller could be available before next season. He's said outright he doesn't want to be franchise tagged, and the Jets may not bother to go through the trouble. At the very least, a multi-year deal appears unlikely.

Right there is the solid TE the Bears lack. Keller is a good (although not great) run and pass blocker. Very good hands, runs routes well, good receiving tightend.
That'd be a nice pickup.

I agree Keller is a good pick-up, someone who could produce well while not getting a huge deal because he isn't a pro-bowler.

He has put up good numbers whilst playing with one of the worst QBs in recent memory, get him with Cutler and Marshall drawing all the attention and he could become a great 2nd-3rd option for the Bears.

If he doesn't want to be franchised its because he's looking for a big multiyear deal

Smith has too much to say in Marinellis Defense. That's why Rod is unhappy here.

Do I wonder that the Lions fan dislikes Marinelle and says he sucks
