People really expecting Landeskog to be a superstar?
His upside is an elite second line winger. He was never drafted to be a star player. Scoring winger with size, not necessarily a game breaker.
Tavares
Rnh/hall
Landeskog
Yet he was, frequently, in his first season.

I hate to break it to you guys but, Tavares is not the second coming of Jesus, hes a mortal like you and I. What the hell is going on here, Tavares is a good player but what makes you guys think hes top 5 in the league? I never see any of the Oiler boys,or the Vancouver players get a quarter of the love Tavares gets on this board. If I was a first time reader, id think Tavares is the son of half of these posters lol.

all great players but Hall and Tavares top the list for me. All of them will be great for years to come.
RNH for me ahead of Tavares, but man was it close. I feel like Tavares is probably more athletic, and probably has more natural ability - but I think RNH sees the game a few steps ahead of everyone else. I haven't seen him play as much as I would like, but that's my current impression.
Landeskog is pretty underrated. He's had the most impressive season thus far imo.
Seriously... what are you talking about?
Landeskog had 52 points and he wasn't exactly playing Kesler-level defense.
Tavares just put up a PPG season on the Islanders, one of the most abysmal rosters in the game. RNH had as many points in 20 less games and Hall had nine more points in 21 less games.
Landeskog has had the least impressive season, out of all these players.
For me, I say RNH has the highest potential. Followed VERY closely by Tavares. Both of those two have potential to become very good hockey players though.
Hall can go safely in 3rd with Landeskog at the bottom of this list.
Crosby, Malkin, Stamkos, and Ovechkin are on a different level than Tavares and I seriously doubt you would take him over the others.
Crosby, Malkin, Stamkos, and Ovechkin are not on "another level" than Tavares. let's first discuss how these guys are surrounded by top tier talent, something Tavares is not. Stamkos has Martin St. Louis setting him up every night and all through his development in this league.
Tavares has 100 point potential, and will probably get there in the next full season, and that will absolutely put him in the level with those guys.

Considering Tavares is already in the top 8 in NHL scoring, I think top 5 is in his cards for the coming seasons. But keep being delusional. Hall is not, and never will be, on the level Tavares is on.

Do you know that they scored at virtually identical rates in both their rookie and sophmore seasons? Seriously their ppg was within .02 of one another in both seasons iirc. Hall i do believe has the very slight advantage in ppg, although Tavares played more games.

Tavares has been hyped up since he was 14 years old. The OHL introduced a rule just so Tavares could be drafted at 14 instead of 15. He scored 72 goals as a 16 year old. He is the all time OHL goal scoring record holder with 215 (a record that wasn't even challenged since the late 80's). Had 433 points in 247 games in his OHL career. The Maple Leafs tried to get him to play for the Marlies in 2007. There was a petition to make him eligible for the 2008 draft. So yes, a very hyped up player for years before he was drafted, and he has done nothing but impress in the NHL so far. He hasn't sucked enough for the hype to fade, hence there is still plenty of hype.
As for the poll, I'll reserve my judgement since I don't watch much of the Oilers or Avalanche. All are very special players. But Tavares has the highest potential.

Stamkos, I'll agree with you, but no way is he on the other 3's level sorry.
All 3 at one point or another have had WORSE linemates then Tavares and have produces elite numbers, Tavares hasn't shown he can do the same. Took him 3 seasons to reach ppg, those other 3 came out ppg off the bat.
