Nogier is a big, lanky D from Saskatoon. Drafted by the Blades a couple of years ago and is right on the brink of making the team this year full time as a 16 year old. He's got great size at 6'2 and 182 pounds and I fully expect him to end up a couple inches taller.

He's a fantastic skater, hardly ever gets beat on one-on-one plays and reads the play remarkably well.

I'm truly hoping that he finds a way to stick around Saskatoon this year because I think he could grow leaps and bounds and be a VERY solid #6 D by Christmas.

Overall he's definitely a kid to watch for the 2014 NHL Draft and I think he could possibly even slide into the top 60 of that draft when it's all said and done.

Didn't really see him against Sweden at U17s. What's your take on his play so far?

It's a tough go for a young kid to stick on a team that is hosting the Memorial Cup.

Named as the Blades rookie of the year and his development curve this season was pretty astounding. Got sent down late in November and came back up later in the year and never looked back. Skating still needs to get stronger, but he's raw and quite the talent.

Another interesting thing to note is that it took him about 40 games as a 16 year old rookie before he took a minor penalty.

That's pretty unbelievable considering he was going up against kids bigger, stronger and older than him every game.

While he hasn't had a great year, this is still a big get for the Rebels. I fully expect him to play with Fleury on their top pairing both this year and next year in their Memorial Cup hosting team in 2016.

Nogier earned some valuable experience in 2013 at that same event as a 16 year old for Saskatoon. He's a minute muncher, has really grown his physical game and can handle the simple outlets.
