I think he used to play for the Jr. Kings. Not sure though.

Yesterday Slovenian sports journalists voted for the "Slovenian Sportsman of the Year" and picked An˛e Kopitar as the winner for 2012 among male athletes. Lifting the Stanley cup and being the top scorer of the playoffs was apparently enough for the (backwards) journalists who usually values individualism and Kopitar became the first Sportsman of the Year involved in team sports since 1974 who won the award, and the first since 1991 and the independence of Slovenia.

Goals from Mora vs Karlskoga 6:3, which was on top of the table at the time. Kopitar (1g and 2a vs Karslkoga) has 10 goals and 23 assists in 29 games for Mora and is fourth among scorers in the league.

Apparently Kopitar, who share the same agent as Crosby, tried to convince the Canadian star to join him in Sweden, however, Mora president calculated that it would cost them almost 300,000 euros per month, which they cant afford.
