I was half asleep near that point in the game, but from what I remember a lot of those calls were correct with USA getting their arms and elbows up and contact to the head will always be called.

Don't forget that Strome slash call.. I was laughing at that one.

That was a garbage call. I was really tired and might've been biased, I don't even really remember.

Hartman deserved what he got, definitely got Murphy's head. Trouba's "charge" didn't look like a penalty to me but I couldn't really tell because it was a horrible replay angle shown by TSN. McCabe should not have gotten anything from his hit. There was no head contact that I could see but I could be wrong.

The refs are just ruining the game with all these calls. Would have been an awesome finish if it wasn't for them.

Totally agree with your post after watching some highlights on YouTube.

Not a whole lot to say about that period. At even strength he botched a breakout on his 1st shift but toward the end he had a nice move going wide around the defender on the right wing by dipping his shoulder. Looked like he was going to get a good scoring chance or find one of his linemates who were crashing the net but nothing really came of it. He is getting PP time as he was set up along the near halfwall for a good chunk of the Czech advantages. Got some pucks toward the net, nothing amazing.

There we go, Faksa starts off a brilliant tic-tac-toe passing play off the rush. 3-1. He'll get the secondary assist for making the original cross-ice pass. Czech really dominating here.

Faksa is definitely getting more ice as this game goes along. Was being used pretty sparingly at first. Puck usually seems to be in the offensive end when he's on the ice.

Molin's goal was a beauty.

Go to the 7:10 mark to watch:

He's tied for the team lead in points after the preliminary round.

I guess I've been pronouncing Molin incorrectly.

I always thought it was "lin" like Linsanity, but they seem to be saying "lean".

Not as nice as it looks at first glance. It deflected off the defender's stick blade.

Because of how -in is pronouced in Swedish I've always pronouced it Moe-lean.

I'll never understand why anyone takes this tournament seriously from a results-based perspective with the quality of officiating such as it is. It's a talent showcase and a great opportunity for these kids, not much else.

Just making it known that I'm up and watching. Likely one of just 2 or 3 Canadians who set their alarm for this one. Wouldnt mind seeing it get out of hand score wise so I can hit the hay again here.

GO USA!
