Yeah in NHL level. But come to see SM-liiga game where every player stays down 30sec after hit waiting that ref gives game misconduct to opponent.

Thats ****ing joke.

Opponent going to hit so let's dive like this.

Just take the hit like a man...

E: Just realised its Canadian player dying in both videos...

Players dives for 2 reasons:

1- Often, referees are too dumb to not see a penalty if the player doesn't dive or embellish

2- Diving or embellishing is NOT being punished by the referees

Don't hate the players....hate the game. Oh and trying to pinpoint which nation does it more is plain stupidity.

I agree. We all know the Russians dive the most.

There was a time when targeting a star of the opposing team and injuring him was considered an "honorable thing to do".

But than you would have to fight the other teams toughest player. So there was a deterrence factor. Therefore, smart and honourable players did not go after the other teams best players unless they were ready to fight and fight often. When Steve Moore went after Naslund he should have fought all comers the next game. Sadly, he was a coward and Bertuzzi did the unspeakeable punch from behind.

So??? There was a time where the majority of stars also defended themselves quite well, not waiting and relying on the heavyweights of the team to finish the junk they started

If a star player goes out and tries to be a tough guy than ya fight your own battles. However, if a player from another team goes after your star player than expect to fight the other teams toughest guys.
In the case of Moore, he injured Naslund and was to cowardly to fight Bertuzzi.

Except Moore had already fought Cooke in the first period.

Moore had no reason to fight Bertuzzi, and Bertuzzi only went after him because it was a blowout (8-2 Colorado).

moore had already fought that game. a player shouldn't have to fight over and over. the fact that people still try to blame moore for what happened is disgusting.

Yea, Bertuzzi took the Moore cheapshot too personally and combine that with the score in the game and it led to that tragic incident. The Cooke fight should have settled it.

I still say he should have fought Bertuzzi. The guy took out Naslund (the best player) the previous game. He should have been expected to fight everyone, otherwise he should not have hit Naslund to begin with. I was upset that he got so hurt but he was a puke through and through.

So you want little guys to fight heavyweights? Cooke was in his weight class and was supposed to be a gritty tough guy (we have since learned he is a rat who can't even defend himself). Cooke didn't get the job done, but it should have been over with after they squared off.

Sorry your wrong on many accounts. For one this was the second meeting between Colorado and Vancouver after the Naslund hit. The first meeting after the hit was in Colorado and the cowardly Canucks did nothing. They waited until it was a home game. As far as the "code" is in hockey, its you accept the first fight after you take out a star player. No matter the outcome its over after that.
