I have 2/3's of a stone cold US first line, Dougie Hamilton (1 point so far) and the non starting Goalie for Sweden. other than that i am on fire . my first WJC draft is a bit of a learning experience for me so far
Coming off my fantasy football championship it's good to get humbled a bit.
This pool isn't even close. We have the last few places all wrapped up already!!

It's been a tough start for you two, but in reality I don't think it's completely over. Both Finland (for you mzappa) and USA (for ps241) have a chance to be in the relegation round...where they could put up some huge goal numbers that might help an improbably comeback...

My tough love message worked as Trocheck (who I like) and Gaudreau each had 3 points although i won't let last place slip from my grasp without a fight.
having Finland bounce to the relegation round is huge for this draft, WTF happened they looked so good in the pre-tournament exibition games?
It was big day for Holden, Sweech, mzappa and ps241. Hero finally falls out of first . 14 freaking assists for Sweech today
Too bad my goaltending is completely non-existant. I thought the Finn's would go back and forth, but no dice. Should have taken Joel Lassinantti who was my other option.

Yeah, I was surprised at that as well (that the Finns rode Korpisalo). Lassinantti and Laurikkanen were for sure toss ups as backups getting some easy games going into tournament. No way to predict Finns would ride one goalie.
That's unfortunate I was enjoying the view from the top.
This pool made for a very conflicting game today for me, as of course I wanted Canada to win but on the other hand I could have used the points from a strong Russian showing to stay on top. I guess I was kind of happy either way
I'm bored so I'll do the update game by game as the game sheet becomes available via IIHF...big game for Trouba and Jones, though. Gibson gets the SO this time
EDIT: Updated after US-CZE game. I take first on my own, Hero moves into a tie for second with Sweech with a big game from Jones. Trouba helps Jets move from 7th to 4th. ps241 moves into a tie for 9th with the Gaudreau hatty It's in the main post, but I'll only repost the standings later in the thread after the day is done.
EDIT2: Bad luck for Sweech as well as Finland has switched goalies from Korpisalo...but to Juvonen not Laurikainen.
EDIT3: What a disaster game for me. Hero's Pokka scores, Sweech's Lehkonen with 2pts, and Barkov and Ristolainen have one combined so far. And Hero has 4 key Russians playing a weaker opponant right away. This is not a good day...
EDIT4: Pokka with another goal...I guess it was a one day lead for me...at least Vasilevski is starting...

mzappa if you lose by 4pts or less, I really feel for you buddy. Gibson should have had the SO here, prevented from it by the bad call by the officials. Combine that with the 3rd period resting against Germany, just ouch. He should have 3 SO's.
ps241 has climbed out of the basement, at least for now...we'll see how the RUS-SWE game goes...
EDIT: Two goals and an assist for Dano in Slovakia's 5-3 win over Latvia (to clinch that they won't get relegated) extends my lead...
