Phil Loadholt is indeed still a load. Very happy for the Vikings win, but man, he gave me a few gray hairs today.

And our reward for beating the Packers today?

We get to play the Packers next week in Green Bay.

So the Vikes and Packers will meet again, but in Green Bay. That's a mighty big test. I'm not a very optimistic person, but if they pulled off a win there, it could open the door.

It's a #@$!ing tall order, and yet the Vikes have a better chance at winning in Green Bay than the NHL does at seeing hockey this season.

I'm just saying.

I'm hopeful, and I know miracles can happen, but I'm going to uh "manage" my expectations.

Show me a Vikings' fan (over the age of 5) who doesn't manage their expectations at this point.

Yes he would have.

Lesson I learned is never rely on the Packers for anything. I hate you Packers. Go vikes next week.

Damn. Figures the Packers would find a way to **** us, even though we won.

I'm going out celebrating tonight. I'll be sporting my old John Randle jersey -- that I haven't worn since "that game"...

That was one of the best games I've ever seen. No reason why AP shouldn't get the MVP award now.

Talk about mixed feelings, it would have been really nice to see AD break the record.

Frazier used to catch a lot of flak but he has got the team to play hard down the stretch, a lot of credit has to go to him.

Also, Ponder played extremely well...especially after having such a tough season.

Woah, woah, woah Minnesota sports' teams. Slow down. First the Vikes. Now the Gophers are knocking BC around like ragdolls.

Let's not use up all that "success" in one day, shall we?

Should have been picked for sure 2 times, great chance at 3.

But damn, if the vikes beat the pack next week. I will rub it in many o faces.

The Gophers don't count toward my happiness/misery quotas, so don't worry about them depleting any sudden wellspring of positive karma. They're running off a separate supply.

Well, what a nice early bday present for yours truly! Both Gophers and Vikings with great wins today! No way our horrible defense(and defensive philosophy) I don't think gets shredded again next weekend, but that's next weekend. Let's enjoy this for the week shall we, and Ponder earned the right to be the starter going into next year tonight, but the Vikings better have a more viable backup next year.

Technicality at this point...the Vikings have been in playoff mode for four weeks.

That was a great game. Just a classic.

Lots of guys really stepped up on offense:

- Ponder did a solid job, made some great throws, avoided the big stupid plays. He's looking a lot like Alex Smith...about as good as the guys around him and at his best won't win the game but won't lose it...and when he's off he's just terrible.

- Jenkins and Wright stepped up BIG TIME. Huge catches throughout the game to keep drives going and make TD's.

- Walsh is awesome. I love how the 54 yard FG was "comfortably in his range" according to the FOX people

- AP of course...sucks he didn't get the record but that's not a bad season at all coming off ACL surgery. Right? Coulda woulda shoulda late in Houston or at the end of the first half in San Diego...

Of course some not so good things...

- The secondary continues to give up MASSIVE chunks of yardage especially on 3rd and 4th downs.

- Phil Loadholt is complete garbage. The guy takes the dumbest penalties possible and can't block.

- Defense still can't stop small RB's.

- Frazier I think should have ran one more play with AP and I'm not 100% that he used those timeouts correctly near the end of the game...but he won.

Oh yeah...

PLAYOFFS!

Of course we have our work Christmas function...at the Wolves game the same day and time as the Vikings.

/facepalm

i just hope we don't fall behind early on the Packers home turf; don't have that much confidence in Ponder's decision making under pressure.
