KHL hockey team CSKA Moscow intends to release Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov from his lockout contract on Monday, a team source told R-Sport on Sunday.
CSKA had announced that Bryzgalov had skipped Sunday's 4-2 defeat of Dynamo Moscow due to injury, but the source said it was because the 32-year-old wanted out.
The thing is, Ilya is leaving the team," the source said. "Officially they'll announce it on Monday. The reason, most likely, is that the lockout should be over pretty soon in Bryzgalov's opinion.
Bryzgalov has played 12 games for CSKA since arriving from Philadelphia on September 21, winning six and with a 91 percent save rate.
Bryz leaving Russian team

Ilya Bryzgalov has always been confident in his beliefs. Now, he has money riding on them.
According to a report from Russian news outlet RSport.RU, Bryzgalov opted out of his contract with his Russian team, CSKA Moscow, citing the end of the NHL lockout as his reason for leaving.
Bryzgalov was quoted by Russian journalist Ruslan Salikhov as saying "I quit CSKA because lockout is ending." Bryzgalov disputed the accuracy of the Russian reports with a tweet, saying he did "not make any comments like that." He also included a "smiley face" emoticon at the end of that statement. Salikhov later retracted the quote.
When asked to clarify the comments reported by Russian media, Bryzgalov did not immediately respond.
Regardless of his reason for leaving, the Flyers were likely hoping Bryzgalov would hang on just a bit longer - even if the lockout really is ending. Bryzgalov, 32, withdrew from CSKA Moscow - Russia’s famed Central Red Army franchise - as he was beginning to play his best hockey since March.

Dunno who was the goalie in yesterday's match there but he didn't look really good
The game itself was quite enjoyable, the second period was most exciting.
Too bad Dynamo lost their last faceoff at 0:11 remaining time so it was no problem for CSKA to goal 2:4 with an empty net hit, tehe.
Ok, enough offtopic =)

MOSCOW, December 31 (R-Sport) - Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov is returning to the U.S. to have an injury treated and has not quit CSKA Moscow, his Russian lockout team said Monday.
A source at CSKA told R-Sport on Sunday that earlier reports of injury were a smokescreen for Bryzgalov’s plans to leave the club and that he would be released Monday, but the team emphatically denied this was the case.
“Ilya will return to the team and continue his successful performances,” CSKA said in a website statement.
The team did not specify the nature of the injury beyond saying it was to “the upper half of the body.”
CSKA said Bryzgalov was returning to the U.S. to see doctors who had treated him before, and that he had the "absolute trust" of CSKA medical staff.
Bryzgalov has played 12 games for CSKA since arriving from Philadelphia on September 21, winning six and with a 91 percent save rate.
So, the is back alive now, I heard. Well, thank you for great games with two of your boys, I hope they'll give the now the same great time and scoring results we had with them. I wish your team the best.
Also thank you for the nice welcome and getting along here, as for me, there's no reason to keep staying here; I guess I will check about the Flyers from time to time, though I've never been really interested in the NHL I now have a favourite team there (which I also often play at NHL 13 [xbox] ).
doubt that, while Giroux played well while he was in Berlin, him not coming back nor giving a clear 'no' left the organisation in some trouble (time over to get another needed national Defense player). The fans understood his reasoning but passion for the team is valued high there and that he didn't show. Maybe he was too young for the cultural excursion.
Danny on the other hand left a great impression, even if he had his weak phases he tried to give everything and played injured at the Red Bull Salute, but looks like he gets bought out to resign the younger talents. So there wouldn't be a real figure to keep connected to the flyers for long.

Yeah, that was a ****** move, but I don't know the details, so he might've been more clear and the media just didn't know or report how they really established their relationship after the injury.
