Ponder on the road in his first playoff game. Rodgers looking for first home playoff win.

Discuss.

The Pack will be getting Cobb and Woodson back this week.

That's big. They need to jump ahead. Make Ponder throw on the road in primetime during his first playoff game. Get pressure on him and make him more prone to mistakes. We got some guys who can pounce on mistakes. Get ahead early and put the pressure on these guys.

Packers will probably get revenge, but I'll be pulling for Minnesota because of their win today.

Weather could play a big part in the game. If the conditions are bad, wet field, snow, wind, etc. the Vikings, with AP should be able to play in the elements. Packers don't have a running game, more of a warm weather/dome type offense.

That's probably the biggest wildcard IMO.

Viking's D has to play well early. The offense, have to be able to play action with Peterson. He's gashed the Packers for over 400 yards on the ground this season. They'll be putting extra guys in the box to stop him. Up to Ponder to make the correct reads on play action to take advantage of the soft spots in the Defense. That's what the coaching staff has to do with him over the next 6 days.

For the Packers, they need to get a lead to limit the damage from AP. But, even down, the Vikings are better feeding the rock to AP than leaving it in the hands of Ponder. If the game is only cold, with no element factors, the Packer's pass attack will be like it always is.

Kind of similar to Lions-Packers from '93 or '94.

But I'm not expecting this to be close...rather Green Bay quite easily

I want Minnesota to win because I've been a big AP fan this year, but I think the emotion of this week won't carry over and GB being at home will lead to some Ponder mistakes and a 13 point Packers win. Hope I'm wrong.

-Minnesota is 0-3 outdoors this year (one loss obviously at Lambeau Field).
-Woodson is the best tackling secondary member on the team. His return will give the defense a lot of help and slightly hinder Peterson.
-Ponder is a rookie on the road. Minnesota may just be happy to be there. Their progression is ahead of schedule. He will be prone to mistakes. He will be especially prone to mistakes if Green Bay jumps ahead early and/or applies more pressure (enough third down three-man rushes, Capers).
-Rodgers wants to accomplish the last thing he needs to get: Lambeau Field playoff win.

Prediction: Green Bay 31, Minnesota 21

Green Bay, should be rather easy. Ponder needs to have a really big day if Vikes are going to challenge Packers.

Damn, so he's only going to run for about 180?

The point is that you let Adrian get his stats, but their offense will struggle as a whole.

I am thinking it will be more like the first matchup.

Weather looks to be pretty good. Just really cold.

As far as the Packers running the ball. I don't think anyone's noticed but the last 8 games they have averaged 26 carries per game at 4.1 yards per carry (I took out Rodgers running the ball). Still not great but not embarrassing like it was earlier in the season.

Don't like our chances outdoors in the cold.

Packers might even cover the 8.5. Especially if Winfield is out and Rodgers gets to pick on Jefferson and Sherels again.
