I've been very impressed by the individual skill displayed by Nichushkin, Galchenyuk, J. T. Miller, Leon Draisaitl, and of course, RNH and Huberdeau. Fairly disappointed in Yakupov, who I had been looking forward to watching prior to the start of the tournament.

I've seen all of the games broadcast on TSN (I PVR them), but none of the others, so I've only seen the group B teams (Canada, Russia, USA, Slovakia, Germany). With that being said, my favourite players to watch so far have been:

RNH
Huberdeau
Strome
Morgan Rielly
Mike Reilly
Drouin
Trouba
Galchenyuk
Jones
Draisaitl
Grigorenko
Kucherov
Nichushkin
Vasilevski
Subban
Gibson

The biggest "pleasant surprises" for me have been Trouba and Draisaitl, both better than I thought they'd be. Trouba especially has been a stud, really good skater for his size, bomb of a shot, quite a lot better with the puck than I thought he'd be, makes good decisions, and very solid in terms of defensive play and physicality. Pretty surprised that he was the 7th dman taken in 2012, he looks terrific.

I'll agree that Yakupov has been the most disappointing so far, though I think he's recognizing his mistakes. Came into the tournament trying to do it all himself, tried to go end to end and shoot every time, very selfish play that was hurting his team and just not working at all. Against Germany he started moving the puck and using his teammates, and was far more effective. I assume he'll keep that up from now on, and shake off his poor start, which was more about selfish play and bad decision making than any sort of lack of talent.

Murphy has also been pretty disappointing. Constant bad decisions, not getting much done offensively, and of course not very impressive in his own end. I've really like his offensive talent in the past, but he's not even displaying much in that regard so far.

Sweden's goalie Joel Lassinnatti has been very impressive IMO.

I am a little disappointed with Seth Jones

Really?
I had barely heard much about him going into this tournament, but he's been a stand out player to me. Very good on the powerplay by distributing the puck and always making the smart play.

Rattie is an exciting player, he's always starting or finishing some crazy play. Subban really puts the relish on some of his stops. Trouba is a beast.

Harrington is reminding me a LOT of a Dan Hamhuis type defenceman.

Wortherspoon is solid and you don't really notice him all that much. A good defenceman is like that I think.

I live very close to the Rattie family here in Airdrie so of course I'm cheering him on.

Subban reminds me of young Luongo. Lots of hype. Two shaky outings. Gets criticized. Has a solid game against the US makes some unneeded acrobatic saves (only because of poor positioning early and has to scramble) and at the end of the game is praised.

Surpised to see Armia being mentioned to be honest. He's been the biggest disappointment thus far on the Finnish team and has not performed even close to what he is capable of. Teräväinen and Ristolainen have been the most impressive players on team Finland IMO.

Other players I've been impressed with...

Tomas Hertl
Tanner Richard
Dean Kukan
Valeri Nichushkin
Jacob Trouba
Malcolm Subban

There are probably a bunch of others whose names I cannot recall right now.

Is Keijo a popular nickname for Teuvo or is it some hfboards inside joke I am not getting? I have seen that used a few times since yesterday.

He made two glaring mistakes that lead to goals so he's been getting a lot of flack.

Grigorenko - smooth as **** with everything he does
RHN - same deal as Grigo
Galchenyuk - I think you are getting the idea what kind of players I like watching the most
Teravainen - Plays as well in tight spaces as any other prospect out there.
E.Lindholm - another smooth operator

Miller?!? What exactly has impressed you. He has one goal on a horrible turn over. His move looked nice, but he was actually trying to go around the goalie's pad and tuck it. His jam went under the pad, but it didn't look intentional to me.

Miller is winning a lot of puck battles and faceoffs, which if he was a fourth line or third line checking guy would be great. For the role he is playing he has been far from impressive. But Gaudreau has actually been the least impressive guy on that line for me, although the whole thing has pretty much been a dumpster fire.

I have watched team Finland's games only but unfortunately I'm not biased at all. Mainly disappointments so far without few exceptions, but nothing spectacular. "Favourite players" have been in the opposing teams. Tomas Hertl impressed me most.
