#Bears assistants are freaking out inside the building. Coach Lovie Smith's status is "not looking good." Decision time for #Bears.
Lovie got a free pass last year because the team literally fell apart. They were a contender, and even afterward had two brutal losses against the Chiefs and Broncos where they didn't give up more than 10 points (through regulation).
If the Bears simply got in, then he would have stayed, but they didn't.
Also, as like a college mindset, Lovie himself said that beating the Packers is part of the job, and has been an abject failure since Cutler got there.
Poor Lovie I know I said weeks ago that he should be fired if they missed the playoffs, but I had no idea that Minnesota would end up 10-6. 10-6 is 9 times out of 10 good enough to make the playoffs. Had GB won yesterday, Lovie would still have his job. But, hey such is life & I'm happy for BWC and any other Bears fan who wanted him gone.
Out:
Lovie Smith
Chan Gailey
Pat Shurmur
Romeo Crennel
Andy Reid
Norv Turner
Mike Tannenbaum (GM)
Gene Smith (GM)
Safe:
Rex Ryan
Scott Pioli (GM)
I won't believe that Rex is safe until a new GM is hired. If the Jets' top candidate insists on being able to bring in his own coach, then I think Woody Johnson would go back on his word and throw Ryan under the bus in seconds (it wouldn't be the first time, after all.)
Anyone else get the feeling that the Bills might hire Norv Turner as their head coach? He would fit nicely into the Dick Jauron, Chan Gailey pattern of retreads that don't even know themselves how they got the job.

I haven't found anything to confirm it today but yesterday it was basically seen as a mortal lock that not only Norv Turner would be dismissed but so would the GM whose name escapes me right now... AJ Smith?
Sounds like Scott Pioli isn't necessarily safe, just might depend on who they hire. Seems like they want a big fish: Reid, Cowher, etc. Doesn't mean they'll get one, but they might want one.
RT @jwyattsports: #Titans owner Bud Adams just informed Mike Munchak he will be back with the team in 2013

Pioli better not be safe. He's the worst thing that's ever happened to the Chiefs.
