I think at this point it would be foolish for the Leafs to give up on Kulemin, I think he can be a valuable asset.
If Shero liked his chemistry with Malkin and felt the need to address a winger situation in Pittsburgh, Id hope Burke would look to make a deal that centered around Kulemin+ for Sutter+
Funny thing about Kulemin, even with only 7 goals he was still one of the best players on the team. To trade this guy for anything less than a king's ransom will be a very costly mistake.
Leafs are in no position to trade for little pieces. A straight up deal with someone with similar talents or a blue chip prospect or Leafs wouldn't consider it.
To the person asking me who else has entire year slumps. here is a list.
........
Francois Beauchamin
Need I continue?
Beauch did not slump all year. He was off at times, but for the most part was defensively sound. I don't think it would be fair to say he was in a slump all year long.

Highly doubt Burke would be able to pull it off without something the Leafs overpaying (not much, but enough to not be a good deal.)
Thats just... just terrible. Shultz might be useful if Burke isn't ready to trust Holzer, but Ward is overpaid and Galiev does nothing for us.
You're not exactly giving up amazing value and you need defensive defenseman. Galiev is a great prospect who could make your top 6 soon and Ward is a good 3rd/4th liner and could be useful. It's definitely not terrible for Toronto, far from it actually.

1. We have no need for Ward. If you have not noticed we a glutted with these 3rd/4th liners. We do not need anymore so he holds little to no value to us.
2. Schultz is a nice piece but he is not worth giving up Kulemin (Who is our best defensive player if anything we need more Kulemin's not less.
3. Galiev is a nice prospect and he is the only player I would have any true interest in this deal.
Kulemin's value is at an all time low. In no way is he a 7 goal scorer and it is a pretty homerish to call him a 30 goal scorer (He could do it again but that is besides the point.) Right now I see him as a 20-30 or 25-25 2nd liner who can play a solid two way game. So if you want Kulemin on your team my advice is start overpaying.

No, it's terrible. Toronto easily gives up the best player in the deal in Kulemin, who's one of the better 3rd liners in the league. Toronto really has no need to be trading for ECHL players and bottom 6 players. With Connolly, Lombardi, Steckel, McClement, Frattin, Hamilton, Brown, and potentially Kadri, Colborne, and Bozak, the absolute last thing Toronto needs is more 3rd/4th liners. Schultz is useful, but absolutely not at the cost of Kulemin+.

I like Kulemin quite a bit. He's work great on Couturier's LW, bringing even more size and defensive ability to the equation. I wouldn't even need 30 goals from him. 15-20 would be plenty. I'd offer a prospect like Nick Cousins and a draft pick or two for him.
An NHL ready prospect, a nearly almost NHl ready prospect, and a young previous 30 goal scorer who even without the offence is our best defensive player for a good prospect, a fringe top 4 D and an overpaid cap dump who likely wouldn't crack the top 9.....
Galiev
Neuvirth
Schultz (could fit as a bottom 4 DFD with Gardiner, Reilly, Liles or whoever. Would be a mainstay on the PK as well. Carlyle could bring the most out of him).
