Debatable. I think the team has played its best when Rielly is on the ice and I don't think it's coincidence. He also leads all defensemen in the tournament in points and +/-.

Rielly technically is tied for 1st in D points, but IIHF missed his assist in the 1st game and gave it to the Nuge.

Gibson has been better than Subban overall. You cannot be serious about Galchenyuk.

I would have put another Canadian there but didn't really want to have 2 Canadian forwards. Do you think there's anyone else in the group better than Galchenyuk? He's clearly been the best on his team, Russia really don't have any standouts, even Kucherov hasn't been the best, you could put Dano there but I don't really want to include relegation teams forwards

as for Gibson/Subban, Subban has been outstanding in his last 2 games, I don't really think you give it to the goalie with 2 losses against the teams that matter and his only wins over Germany and Slovakia

Other than Jones, you have completely nailed the 'overhyped' team! Though, i'm sure IF Binnington had played, he wouldn't have made this team.

He's only the second leading scorer in the tournament. How unfathomable to include him on an all-star team.

Collberg hasnt been the best swedish forward so I wouldnt put him on the all-star team. Though his wicked shot will get him goals on the PP I do think there has been 4-5 better forwards on the team.

Unfathomable if you go by nothing but the stat sheets. If you really think he was a top-3 forward based on his game play, we can just agree to disagree.

Nice avatar, BTW.

Tied for his team lead in points, only behind Arvidsson in golas and he had an EN goal. He can put the puck in the back of the net which is what matters which is more than can be said for some of the guys I was expecting to lead SWeden in that department

who do you have ahead of him from the group then?

All I see is you complaining about other people's posts, if you don't like them then make you own

I just think a "you cannot be serious" reaction is especially comedic. I'd be interested to know which centre in Group B has been so far ahead of Galchenyuk's play that it's absurd to even think of including him.

Exactly why you cant go by the stat sheet alone. If you watched the games I doubt you would say that Collberg has been the best forward on the Swedish team.

I have watched all of Sweden's games, however the streams haven't been great, I don't understand Swedish language so I have no clue what the commentators are saying, and I don't really pay attention to who is who when it's not Canada.

But what I do know is these awards are usually given out based on stats, you don't see 3rd and 4th line players with 3 points winning them. I'd rather have what Collberg has done than what Lindholm, or Karlsson has done on my team any day

no way is galchenyuk one of the top 3 forwards in his group. his stats don't speak to how weak his play is. there probably 4 or 5 forwards on team canada alone who have been better.

I'd agree with that. Of course, Team Canada as a whole is considerably stronger than the U.S., so we're not exactly comparing apples to apples.

Galchenyuk has not been brilliant, and yet he's somehow the best forward (by leagues) on a weak team and second only to Nugent-Hopkins in scoring as an 18 year old. As a Habs fan, I'm more than content to console myself with that exceptionally weak and laughable play, at least according to some posters here.

I think if Galchenyuk had Schiefele, Huberdeau, Strome, Drouin, Hamilton, Rielly to play with he'd look a lot better than he has yet he's still managed to put up a fair number of points.

Fact is besides RNH this group doesn't have any standout guys that you say without a doubt they deserve to be in the top 3. They don't often fill the 3 stars for forwards all from the same team either.

You can laugh all you want but if they were giving out this award right not then Galchenyuk would get some serious consideration

I also find it kinda laughable that people are saying Galchenyuk doesn't deserve to be there and then they don't say who they think should be. If you think it's so hilariously laughable give me a list of player that you think should get it so I can laugh at yours. Problem is you cannot find 2 other guys that much better than Galchenyuk so you don't want to post it with Galchenyuk in it after you already laughed at it
