Flashy does not mean good. I mean yes Drouin is awesome but RNH is cerebral and makes the smart plays and is all around a fantastic player. Just because you don't see him trying the stuff that you see Drouin try doesn't mean he's not being a game breaker. RNH is like a step ahead of the people on the ice in terms of hockey sense.

And he's good for clutch penalties too.

Im not talking about being flashy. He literally just passes it to the closes person to him. He never wants to hold onto the puck and do something with it.

Dude, RNH has been much better than Drouin in this tournament (even if he's not playing his best). RNH has 3 times more points. He just gets it done.

Also remember that RNH is 19 while Drouin is 17, how would a 17 year old RNH compare to Drouin.

IMO similar. RNH like murphy had people at camp arguing they merited making the team at 17. Difference is rnh has improved since and murphy hasn't,

Half the points RNH got I didn't even know he was on the ice. He did play a much more oversimplified and it doesn't mean it was for the worse but Drouin was a bigger impact on the momentum and chances on the game in the last few, imo.

This is true but we don't know if Drouin will continue to develop really well. All signs look remarkable so far. He is down-right talented.

Lmao, Rielly was absolutely horrific on some of those shifts it's not even funny. Only his skating is truly elite. It's just one tourney but in the games that counted, he was invisible.

Now... TIME FOR VIKSTRANDDDDDDDD.

I'm just disappointed Noesen won't be able to be apart of this experience with team USA.

I've actually found that Huberdeau and Hamilton were fairly invisible this tournament.

Things I Learned from 2013 WJCs

-Canada should hire Pat Quinn
-Canada has to question their model of picking role players over the best players (hasn't worked)
-Switzerland is better and will be better than Slovakia and Czech Republic

This, this, this!

I'm sick and tired of hearing the "we need the shutdown line" "we had to include a few grinders"

Two great defensive plays by Wikstrand on Yakupov. First Nial tried a power move on him but Wikstrand kept him on the outside and then chipped the puck from him and found a good pass to a forward.

Wikstrand-Nilsson(Toronto pick) is the top pairing for Sweden and are always out there when Russia's top line with Yakupov and Koklachev is on the ice.

End of first period. Wikstrand is looking very good and Forsberg is on beast mode. Also, Elias Lindholm is a guy we need to draft.

Hudon, Camara, Lipon? There were better players out there.

Yeah, I agree. This is a run and gun tournament. It's all about offensive dominance, not shut down guys and punishing hits.
