Dennison (Texans OC) , Gruden (Bengals OC) and Shanahan , Kyle

Those should be 3 guys the Bears gun for

The Cowboys would be better off just hiring him as a head coach. Garrett's a lame duck anyway.

Although I think Mularkey will ulimately be gone when a new GM comes in it is unfair to blame a 2-12 on him. He had zero talent to work with thanks to Smith's complete draft failures. Nobody can win with no talent.
Take a look at where the previous batch of coaches are that also could do nothing with Smith's picks. Jack Del Rio, Mike Smith and Dirk Koetter may all be shaking hands during warm ups at the Super Bowl.
I was never a fan of drafting Gabbert but he got put in a tough situation with Garrard bailing 2 days before the season started last year. (Yes I know he was cut, but he went to JDR and GS and told them he didn't want to play anymore). Gabbert was never brought in to start right away and wasn't given the coaching time as someone who was coming in to start. Then he got thrown to the wolves behind a horrible O line with a cast of receivers that were underwhelming at best.
I do think he needs to go because he is ruined in that organization. Maybe new scenery will restart the kids career.
Mike Smith left for a Head coaching gig that he absolutely deserved, Jack Del Rio got canned after essentially quitting on the team. As for Koetter, I'm not sure what the make of him. He always felt way too conservative and unwilling to take the reigns off of the offense, but seeing what he's done with Atlanta is pretty impressive and makes me wonder if maybe JDR tried to keep him in check. Granted, Jags have never had the type of personnel ATL has had, but seeing what he's doing really makes you wonder what was going on.

My dream scenario = Gruden as HC and Marinelli stays on as DC
Likely scenario = Bears hire some cheap defensive guy and slide back into Wannstedt/Jauron era
Davis should've been out the door after about week 5. I figured with our OL revolving door he'd play at RG at some point this season. At least he wouldn't be expected to catch the ball.

Bears missed the playoffs 5 times in 6 years. No one survives that.

I heard Devin Hester has already threatened to retire.

Meanwhile, Michael Vick was visibly angry about Reid removal today.

You can say that now ,,, But until today I never thought I would see Virgina grow a pair and fire Lovie

And yes Emery met with Hester and informed him that his time with franchise is likely over ,, Now Hester is saying he might retire

Also with Lovie gone ,, Hester knows his days as a WR are finished

Lovie and Angelo believed that Hester has WR talent garbage

Rivera to "discuss his future with JR". Not entirely sure what to make of that. Would have figured he'd be safe after the way they ended the season winning 5 of 6 but hard to ignore his 2-14 record in one score games. If he does go, my list is 2 guys long: Ken Wisenhunt or Mike McCoy. Assuming they don't land a coach/gm that is. I'd be happy to keep Rivera and add Norv as an OC though.

I think the Panthers should go after Andy Reid. For whatever problems he has, a Reid/Newton pairing could be unstoppable.

Or Chip Kelly...even though I think he will flop and flop hard.

But that would be an ideal landing spot.

I don't really understand they hype surrounding Mike McCoy either. You know damn well who was calling the plays in Denver this year.

Would this be the first time a coach has taken over for someone from their own coaching tree?

That's true, but if you look around, he's worked with many different types of QB's who he made successful to a degree.

Falcons are the new Patriots.

Mularkey sucks, Musgrave hasn't done much in Minnesota.

Would Andy work in Chicago, rather liked Lovie, but his time was up without making the playoffs again.

Honestly I think Reid needs a year off. Hes had way too much going on lately to be devoted 100 percent to football. He needs to chill and recharge.

I think most would agree with you, but most who know him (media or whoever) feel that taking a year off is just not in his DNA.

Too True, more I think about it we don't want him in Chicago.

If he really wants to work, it might make sense to spend a year as an offensive coordinator somewhere. He'd get a minor break from the stresses of the head job, and a major chance to rebuild his brand in advance of looking for another head coaching job in 2014.

There's even less of a chance of that. He's not going to be willing to answer to multiple people above him after he's had near-absolute control for ~10 years

So one good thing might come from Lovie getting fired already. Nice.

He's a shadow of his former self as a return man and he's a backup receiver on most other teams. Whoop-de-doo.
