I hated Ruutu when he was here. I can't see how Cooke would be any different.
Well, damn. Ruutu is my best example. I hated the guy before he was a Sen. He was one of my favourite players when he was a Sen. But I suppose I value the pure entertainment aspect higher than most others do.

Don't get me wrong, I thought he was a very effective player when he was here, and I thought he was one of the smartest guys off the ice, but I was always embarrassed with his on-ice BS.
I don't like dirty hockey, and I got real tired of defending him. Biting guys? Flying elbows? That's bush-league stuff. You lose any right you have to complain about another team's dirty guys when one of your own is just as bad. I love guys who play on the edge, but you can't go over it.
Anyways, that's just me. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I know Ruutu had some fans in Ottawa. That's cool, I don't begrudge anyone who liked him. Just not for me, that's all.

Cooke's not really like that though. And this isn't some "he's changed" thing either, he never really did all the hilarious extracurricular stuff Ruutu did.
The Pens have a couple guys in Wilkes-Barre in Dominik Uher and Bobby Farnham who have that Ruutu factor in their game, though. Farnham is great to watch, you always know something is going to happen every time he's out there. In a game vs. the Marlies this year he responded to a hit from behind on Beau Bennett by jumping on top of a pile of players and crowd surfing part of the way into Toronto's bench. Somehow, he also drew a penalty.
I hope they make it to the NHL, because I miss Ruutu's shenanigans. Him stealing Sean Avery's stick will never not be funny to me.

Well that's it, I don't understand why somebody wouldn't want Cooke on their team. He can actually play hockey. Ruutu was a pest, by Cooke plays more of an edgy grinding style which would be valuable to any team. I can understand the hate for him, but the tune would change as soon as he plays a few games for your team.
First off it feels good to be talking about rumors again. they mentioned on sportsnet that the sens and pens are in discussions over sergi gonchar. No mention of the price just said they were talking so what do you think ottawa gets in return if this happens?
Sens only have 4 healthy defensemen that played in the NHL last year. Unless they have a firesale whenever the trade deadline is set, Gonchar almost definitely stays.
