Ya he's Nuge's replacement at the moment

Edit: I think like 2/3rds of his points have been with Hall and Ebs in the past month or so, but he has looked good enough that a lot of Oiler fans want to see him given a shot in the top 6 when hockeys back

Jared Spurgeon was taken 156th overall by the Islanders in 08'. After not signing with them, he signed as a FA with Minnesota spending the first month or so in the AHL before being called up to the Wild. Been a mainstay and most consistent defender ever since and slatted to pair with Suter on the first pairing.

But how many people expected him to break out like this?

I think many who follow Swedish junior hockey knew about his abilities, he played much like this in juniors. I always liked him but sure, at NHL level as was expecting his ceiling to be a league leading third line winger, very nice to see that he has kept developing so nicely.
