From an Adam French article on Hockeybuzz about the KHL stars.
Quote:
2. Alex Radulov – The King of the K has continued his reign and he’ll probably go down as one of the most disappointing players of all time if he never returns to the NHL. Not to say he would be a superstar award winner but he would be a top line forward and showed that in Nashville. He’s on pace for the most PIM’s in KHL history and has 62 already after only 22 games which is showing his petulance that just keeps increasing, he might be the master of petty revenge penalties. He’s first in points and 3rd in goals and in general has been fantastic. It’s a shame he loves his money and booze too much to be an NHLer…oh who am I kidding they all love those things.
If you watched the Team USA game this morning on NHL network, you saw Ryan Suter's stupid face about 40 times, as they kept airing the "keep your head up, protect your neck" PSA.
All this talk of a 50/50 split actually has me a bit concerned, because we're going to be right up against the new cap. Of course, one might argue that contract values would change because of the new CBA, but giving Gaustad $3.25M could come back to bite us on the backside in a couple of years...

after hearing that the league may include a one time buyout with no cap consequences Im thinking that the owners of the big teams have told the little teams "OK, you got your cap, and you got your revenue sharing, but now we are going to write in some cap fudgery that will give us some wiggle room for our previous bad decisions"
there is no way Nashville will be in worse cap shape than the big guys... we'll be fine...
I was at the NHL store in Manhattan today and here's my haul.
This is the first piece of Preds merchandise I've ever owned, so it's a big day.
The lady behind the counter was surprised. She's seen me in there before and I always got Rangers stuff so she's looking at this Preds shirt like "the hell is this???"
Also I love the alliteration here. Nash and Nashville

One of my high school teammates had a pretty horrific accident over the Holidays. He fell off a skateboard and hit his head on a curb. Got out of ICU a few days ago and went home. For awhile the doctors weren't sure he would ever play hockey again (his brain moved a half inch), but he is doing much better now and they expect a full recovery.
Anyways, this guy played for the Jr. Preds team, and apparently the team got wind of this. Five Predators (1/4 of the team) came to visit him at his house this past weekend to wish him well. Really cool to see that many of our guys take time to come visit him.
I haven't been able to get names, but I'll try to find out. A+ to those guys, whoever they are

This year's lineup, including the Lebda and Dumont buyouts, still sits $10mil below next season's cap. The team is in good shape cap wise.
Rumors out of Carolina say they are going to make an early deal or two. Canes fans are speculating Pitkanen will be dealt. He seems like the perfect #2 to play with Weber. He's on 29, so he is a veteran that can still play at a high level for a long time. We have him play with Weber until Josi is ready for top pairing minutes, then he and Klein become a phenomenal 2nd pairing.
Weber-Pitkanen
Josi-Klein
Gill/Hannan-Ellis/Blum
As for what we give up, I say we offer Jon Blum. Carolina fans said they wanted a young forward, such as Wilson, and they would add. Thoughts?
