Basically if it's not important enough to warrant a thread, it goes here.

Can Green Bay roll out Jennings/Nelson/Jones/Cobb/Driver/Finley for another year?

I know that Driver just cannot possibly be brought back, I just don't want to acknowledge it.

Bills with some big announcements:

Russ Brandon their new CEO, essentially the acting owner. Ralph Wilson has given up organizational control.

Succession plan in place to transition from Buddy Nix to Doug Whaley in the GM role. Nix will still be in place through the draft.

It's amazing the way Ted Thompson has hit on his 2nd(and one 3rd rounder)rounders on receivers.

Greg Jennings 06
James Jones 07
Jordy Nelson 08
Randall Cobb 2011

It's already manifested in Jennings being pushed out by how good the following picks were and can take over.

Greg Jennings already expendable? Wtf?

It's great, but seeing Driver and Jennings likely gone after this season breaks my heart as much as a roster move can.

Packers have always done well scouting and developing WR's

Before Thompson we saw guys like

Robert Brooks (3rd rounder in 1992)
Bill Schroeder (6th rounder in 1994)
Antonio Freeman (3rd rounder in 1995)
Donald Driver (7th rounder in 1999)

Only 1st rounder used by Packers in my recent memory was Javon Walker (20th overall in 2002). And his career fell apart after he left GB

Honestly only WR the Packers drafted in recent memory that I can recall not really impressing was Robert Ferguson (2001 2nd rounder)

The Packers develop QB's and WR's over last 20+ yrs well ,, Its one of reasons that GB coaches/executives are so highly sought by other franchises around league

But it also goes hand-in-hand with having great QB play. A talented WR failing with Favre and then Rodgers would be pretty hard to do.

The Browns have asked the Niners for permission to interview Tom Gamble for their GM post. Gamble being pursued by NYJ, Jax and SD also.

Geez, must be nice to have 4 teams who want you to be their GM.

Former Viking draft pick Chandler Williams died at 27 while playing flag football.

They said it was natural causes. Natural causes at 27?

Atlanta's David Caldwell and Arizona's Steve Keim are the final two in the Jags' GM search, and the club plans to make its hire this week.

Rob Ryan only got hired by the Cowboys because Drew Brees had a bad day against the Browns

If Rob Ryan isn't ready to be a Head Coach somewhere, Andy Reid should call him up.
