2012 Regular Season Reflection and Division Predictions Thread

I was looking to bump all of the division threads but I'm going to just make one thread that links all of the division prediction threads. Let's use this thread to reflect back on the 2012 Regular Season and for those teams who didn't make the playoffs to discuss what needs to happen in order for those teams to get in the playoffs in the future.

You can look inside these threads and make responses in THIS THREAD but please don't bump any of these threads.

I am afraid to look

NFC East - I was wrong (Picked Giants)
NFC North - I was wrong (Picked Bears)
NFC South - I was wrong (Picked Saints)
NFC West - Right with 49ers
AFC East - Forgot to make pick
AFC North - I was right with Ravens
AFC South - I was right with Texans
AFC West - I was wrong (Picked Chargers)

for picking the Chargers

Cheesesteak Invictus and CTHabsfan only 2 with wisdom to pick the Washington Redskins winning NFC East

Pretty wrong here. Was right about all the top 3 having a similar record but wrong about who the top 3 were.

Fairly wrong here. Got the Packers right, the Lions right, the Bears closeish and totally missed the Vikings rebounding with AP going nuts.

Beason wasn't healthy, but that defense was a TON better. Still, Carolina finished strong but never was a threat to take a wildcard spot. Got everything else right.

SF took it, but not "easily". Bradford never took the next step though the Rams were kind of dangerous. Hit Arizona and that's it. Couldn't even get Seattle's QB right, though I had the same critique of Wilson coming into the season anyway.

The Bills never made the push, but I nailed everything else. Ryan was almost run out of town.

Horrible typos aside, got this one almost perfectly too. Baltimore faded towards the end to miss a bye, but that's about it.

Texans could still make the SB, though that's looking doubtful. Titans never challenged, and I really overrated the Jags and underrated the Colts just like everyone else.

Hit Denver and really overrated KC. I don't know if I'd call what the Raiders did "disappointing" considering they never really were expected to do anything anyway.

Let's look...
Steelers - Loss
Falcons - Loss
Texans - Loss
Raiders - Loss
Patriots - Loss
Chargers - Win
Bye
Saints - Loss
Bengals - Win
Panthers - Win
Chargers - Win
Chiefs - Win
Bucs - Win
Raiders - Loss
Ravens - Loss
Browns - Win
Chiefs - Win

This team will be lucky to win two of their first 7 games and I don't see an 8-8 team winning the AFC West. Heck, I think if this team ends up going 0-4 or 1-5 from the start they might not even do as well as I predict in the second half of the season.

And Palmer a better season then Manning? Manning will throw 30+ TDs. Palmer will be lucky to hit 25.
Manning threw 37 and looked like an MVP, Palmer threw 22 and is pretty much done in Oakland. And I correctly predicted the result of 14 of the Broncos' 16 games. The only ones I missed were calling the Texans a win and keeping the Ravens as a loss.

Got 5 right and would have had 6 had I remembered to pick NFC West

I maintain that the Saints did not have a terrible season because of Payton. They might have had a few more wins, but they simply did not have the personnel on defense. I thought Spags would make some players overachieve and play more cohesively, but it didn't really work out that way. Their first three picks in the draft should all be on defense.

I went 6/8 on the division winners. I had the Saints keeping the South and the Giants taking the East.

Pretty much everyone went Texans in the AFC South but the rest of the predictions in that division are just . Boy did we all miss the train on that one.

My predictions with quotes from the original threads...

NFC East - Wrong (Eagles)
Quote:
Maybe finally they'll live up to the hype.
Quote:
(Redskins) RGIII cannot get them up from the hole alone, he'll need some help that doesn't exist at the moment.
NFC North - Wrong - (Lions)
Quote:
Going for upset, not sure if I believe in this though...
Quote:
(Packers) Clear favorite, but the NFC North is really strong overall, so no one's safe.
Quote:
(Vikings) The clear 4th place finisher here... don't really trust Ponder, and if he fails badly, they could be looking for a new QB.
NFC South - Right - Falcons

NFC West - Right - Niners
Quote:
Easy division title for my Niners, maybe even bye week for the Wildcard round?
Quote:
(Seahawks) Big question mark, should be able to beat the Rams though. No playoffs.

AFC East - Right - Patriots

AFC North - Right - Ravens

AFC South - Right - Texans

AFC West - Wrong (Chargers)
Quote:
If they don't win this season, Norv is gone.
Quote:
(Broncos) Peyton is a question mark for me. If he's even 80%, they have potential to win the division.
5/8 for me this year...
