Love Emery. He's everything that Angelo was not and I fully trust his decisions.

Can you post a link here when/if it's up? Internet connection here is unreliable, can't load any website but HF right now for some reason.

Check out Adam Jahns twitter. He's run over most the major talking points. He did omit the part where Emery was defending Kellen Davis. The audience gave out a collective "huh?" on that one.

Interesting ,, So he says he wants a 4-3 D but his 1st round pick is horrid fit for 4-3 D

Still trust him fully?

To be fair, he said Kellen had a tough year.

On KD, I do not agree. I feel the statement was a "He had a terrible year. Next year it's learn to catch or you're gone."

I still really don't understand your Shea ********. It's as if you want him to fail so you can be proven right.

I thought the part where he talked about the O-line was the most interesting part of the press conference. Doesn't sound like he's limiting himself to only offensive linemen in the 1st round of the draft

I am so pissed about McClellin pick because it was stupid pick

I wanted to believe Emery was different then Angelo and it took just 1 round of drafting for me to realize he was no better

Drafting a 3-4 LB who's stock rose artificially (He was a 3-4th rounder most of his draft year) when you run 4-3 D and have more pressing needs on roster is just an absolute waste of a quality pick. Watching guys all over draft make contributions to there teams and then seeing our 19th overall absolutely do nothing outside of 1 game vs Packers in wk 2 is depressing as a fan

Even if that were all true, do you see value in not making a snap judgement, in 1 draft round mind you, about a man who has a history of success everywhere he has been?

Phil Emery has never been a GM and ran a franchise

His history is not relevant as being a GM and charting the future of a franchise is not comparable to his previous jobs

In title no, but in action yes. He's been a scout, and a director of pro personnel. Evaluating talent and creating the makeup of a team is what he's done, and he has done it well. The man has a plan, and it's not fair to evaluate it until fully implemented.

Have some faith. After all, how much worse could it get? We've already seen the deepest depths of hell as Bears fans.

The combine is what worries me. You know how people drool over great combines, and he is such a physical freak that he will have a monster combine, and could see that bumping him to the 15 range in projections.

As for his teammate Jarvis, I'd run like hell from him if I have a top 5 pick.

Its hard to have faith in this franchise

After all it is same franchise that traded a 1st rounder for Rick Mirer

Its hard to have faith when the Steelers/Packers constantly seem to do everything right while Bears are closer to Cleveland Browns (Honestly take out the 80's and Bears would be comparable overall to Browns in suck over last 50 years)

if the bears hadn't changed then lovie would still be the coach and they'd be giving us platitudes about a couple bounces going differently....

It's rare to see 2 inside guys go in the top 20. I guess I could see a team think they could move him to a rush linebacker spot

He's not someone you draft to rush the passer. He's all over the place, in a good way, and can cover the entire field and has good coverage as well. He only has 5 sacks in his 3 year college career, entering today. What I would like to see him do is force more fumbles, though. He only weighs like 230... wouldn't that be a bit small for a pass rushers against 300 pound offensive linemen? Not sure his speed would overcome his lack of weight, even with how strong he is.

Bruce Irvin is like 240 lbs and plays end on pass downs for Seattle.

You'd be playing to his weaknesses then, and he's better off in coverage passing downs as he excels when he drops back into coverage. Would be like starting Derrick Rose at small forward.
