Harrington and Ouellet are both playing better hockey then Rielly. Not to say Riellys been bad, but for a tournament all star team he isnt there.

Agree that Troubas been a beast but he took a pretty dumb penalty against Canada, gotta try to avoid that. Hes still been the best D in the tourney though
Agree with most of what you have said. Still think Reilly will be better than both Harrington and ouellet in the end, although they both have been better than him this tournament. Don't think that would be the case, however, if Reilly wasn't so sheltered and given more ice time so he can play his game

I actually think that Xavier Ouellet has been the best defenseman on Team Canada overall. Second would be Harrington.

And that doesnt necessarily mean he'll be on the all star team either. I would agree with what you said, I'm biased but I'm hearing a lot of other fans think Ouellet has been the best but Canada may have to win gold for someone to get it. It could still be Harrington who gets it as well, I just dont see how anyone ebsdies leaf fans can actually say Rielly's play has been all star worthy so far or ahead of Harrington and Ouellet. Ouellet is the only player trusted in all situations though on the team which says something about him I guess

Ouellet caught my eye right off the bat and for my money he is the Canadian's best D man and I have no dog in this hunt. That being said I am a Rielly fan and he is playing really well (not so much last game by his standards). Wings and Leafs should both be happy.

Tourney MVP predictions?

Assuming they award it to the winner of the gold medal. Who do you think would win it?

Me I think (not surprisingly) that if the USA wins it will be Gibson. I've seen some people say Gaudreau but he got hot very late and contributed goals in large score victories. Gibson kept the US in it and gave them the confidence to win. My second choice would be Trouba. He played like a champ all tournament. If Gibson gets blown out tomorrow, he'd be my pick?

Sweden? I only watched two games but I guess Collberg, Vikstrand, or lundstrom but I'd hardly say any of them were the tourneys best.

Gaudreau will probably score another two goals in the gold medal game so I'll say him. Or Gibson.

For USA I think it's real close between Gibson, Trouba, and Gaudreau and I think it will come down to the last game to break the deadlock.

If the tourney ended today, I'd lean Gibson, but it's so close that all Gaudreau or Trouba need is one more big goal to overtake him.

If USA wins it has got to be Gibson. If Sweden wins, I'm not so sure. Forsberg, maybe?

I really believe Ryan Murphy deserves the MVP after such spectacular play.

From Sweden likely Wikstrand or Nilsson imo. Maybe Forsberg if he can get a couple of points in the final.

If he continues his solid play and Canada wins the bronze medal he should get it for sure. Spott has to be pleased with his play and he will no doubt get lots of ice time in that game. He's really carried and moved the puck well and been a beast defensively
