Thaddeus Lewis, former Duke QB. Had no idea he was even in the NFL.

But what does and what doesn't enhance performance? HGH obviously makes people bigger and stronger, but does that alone really make a player better?

I would love to see a league full of 8-3 600-pound men who can run a 4.3-40, though.

Nevada coach Chris Ault is retiring after 28 years. He is known for inventing the pistol offense that is currently ran by Colin Kaepernick, Russell Wilson and others.

Yes, this is American Football, being bigger and stonger makes you better. I'm not sure why anyone who follows this sport would even ask that question.

You realize that getting bigger and stronger slows down most people, right? In a game that is predicated by timing and speed, I don't think those two attributes make a player better, unless they are OL or DL players, and even then those players need to be quick.

You think Usain Bolt takes HGH and lifts weights to be a better sprinter?

MNF poor ratings this year

Not really a surprise when you lack matinee games and the allure of MNF has been battered throughout the years.

The whole point of using those things is to become stronger and bigger without losing speed. Anyone can become bigger and stronger while losing speed, that stuff makes it easier to avoid that problem.

And Usain Bolt could easily use HGH (not saying he doe, but he could), swimmers have been known to use it and they swim for speed.

Not remotely bitter actually. just remember that your team couldn't win with an even playing field.

They'd have to make the fields about 250 yards by 175.

That's the thing, like steroids, many scientists and doctors have came up with different results and different claims to if they actually help improve performance.

HGH is simple, it makes you grow and get stronger, but does it actually help you maintain your speed prior to using it? I don't know.

My point is this, there are a lot of gray areas with illegal drugs and ped's. The only absolute thing about them is that they are not supposed to be taken. I believe that most "ped's" effect the user individually and that you can't simply say 'x makes this player better because y'.

The other thing about HGH is that it doesnt create an intelligent player or quick decision making or the ability to stay calm under pressure. Hand eye coordination etc.

Those are all talents.

Spikes and Mike Goodson get ejected for basically nothing and Spikes rightfully goes nuts. Calls him a turd after the game.

Exactly. No one can really quantify exactly how much these "ped's" really help the player perform better. IMO, everyone should be able to take whatever "ped" they want. The playing field would be leveled and the best of the best will still be the best.

With David Akers struggling, 49ers are bringing kickers to San Francisco for workouts, including Billy Cundiff and Justin Medlock.

Another name I heard was Neil Rackers.

If they're going to make a change, I think they put Akers on the IR for his groin or knee or whatever and try to spare his pride a little.

would they really cut Akers with the playoffs looming? I honestly can say I have never heard of this before right before the playoffs. If they really thought he had issues why didnt they do it sooner?
bizzare.

Yeah, I don't think they want Cundiff.

He actually didn't play that bad Sunday.

I was expecting a Spergon Wynn, Curtis Painter, Tyler Palko type game.

I guess they did not watch the Ravens season end last year thanks to his foot.

Doesn't mean they shouldn't have signed another kicker. But there are better options than Cundiff.

Akers: 69%
Cundiff: 58.3%

It seems profound to say at this juncture, but Harbaugh's going to start making more enemies than he wants if he's going to throw guys under the bus when he doesn't have to. It could work out, but this ain't college. Egos are too big for everyone to accept the perceived "betterment of the team." There are guys on the field who still don't think what has happened to Alex Smith was right.
